Day time activities.

Postby onceposh » 08 Feb 2011 10:25

Hi
We going back to Icmeler in September for the 3rd time, the last 3 yrs ago. This time we will have a 5yr old in tow. Can anyone suggest any day time activities ? Obviously we will do the beach and pool ect but could do with some more ideas. I know theres a waterpark in Marmaris and the skating rink in Icmeler. Any other suggestions or tips would be appreciated. :D

Well, there are loads of excursions for starters - if you click on the link on the Icmeler Online Holidays main page, you'll see what's available. The lazy day boat trip is always a good one.
Last season, there was a new little crazy golf place opened up on the beach front beside Linekars' bar - hopefully it might be there again this year, and there were also new inflatables in the sea towards the other end of the beach near where the Munamar hotel was. I am sure other posters will be able to suggest some more ideas for you as well.

Some young girl staying in the same apartments as us last year got a smack in the mouth with a golf club at the crazy golf (accident) it made a right mess of her teeth and cost her parents over 600 quid in dental work...ouch.

We took our son on jeep safari at that age and he loved it. We sat him in between us so he was safe, put on loads of sun block, put on his life jacket when we went swimming and to the waterfall, bought him a water pistol (sorry cannon, his daddy insisted on a big one :D ) and he had so much fun wetting everybody. Because he was young the driver of our jeep and the others took a shine to him and he was well looked after the whole day. Some people may not advise the jeep safari thinking your little one is too young but my personal experience is yes take him :D

we took our son on the jeep safari at 4 and he loved it, the only problem being we have to do it every year now, but we don't mind because its an enjoyable day. i would reccomend the icr trip, it might be slightly more than some you can get but it is the best one we have been on.

another idea is that there are plenty of parks around, we quite often go for a afternoon stroll, and as most bars have play areas it is easy to pop into one of these for a cool refreshing drink.

Hi and welcome Onceposh. The best suggestion I've got aside from the jeep safari and waterpark is to get him swimming solo before you go if you can? Local leisure centres [austerity measures allowing] have really cheap classes!
Have to say the freedom of a little one being able to swim was the best thing we did before going to Turkey - had to literally drag our youngest one out of the water the first time we went when she was 6! She lived in the pool and totally buzzed off swimming in the sea on the boat trips!
