Icmeler Online Holiday Forum & Reviews - Turkey

Dear All

We are going to Icmeler for the first time in June (me, my sister and a friend) and can't wait!

I have been to Olu Deniz before and loved everything I saw of Turkey.

We are staying in Palm Gardens Appartments, hoping they are walking distance to the beach and main centre of Icmeler.

Please can anyone advise on things such as to do/not to do and where to eat/not to eat please?! We will be happy to hire a car for 2 or 3 days if necessary and worth it!

We are staying for 2 weeks.

Welcome to the forum.
Everyone has their favourite bars, resturants and cafes, we`ve never had a bad meal.
If you look at viewtopic.php?f=19&t=6091&hilit=around+icmeler+map
this will give you your apartments location, as you hear about other places, you should be able to find and locate them. It is a oldish map, but still serves it`s purpose. Your apartments are 5 to 10 mins stroll to the beach or centre. you can walk round Icmeler in about 1 to 2 hours, you can also walk along the prom to Marmaris. Dolmus, Taxi and Taxi boats are very frequent and cost a few Lira, depending on where you want to go. Just make sure you agree a price if using Taxi`s.

The Palm Garden is in a lovely location (stayed there 2008) tucked up around the corner from the Elvis bar, nice and quiet but only a few yards round the corner and you're on the main drag with all the restraunts and bars. As was said by the other poster everyone has their favourite restraunts, but we also have never had a bad meal. I find the better quality restraunts are down by the canal area, I love Broadway (oh my god mexican steak to die for) and The Majestic to name a couple, but there are loads of threads on this site about eating out. I'd say the Palm Garden is about 15 minute walk to the beach or more depending on how fast you walk, we crawled when we went it was August and hot as hell. Do look at the icmeler360 site it gives you a feel for the place, I was the person who first put the link to that on here, so contrary to my wifes beliefs I am good for something.
