hi weve already booked a holiday for next may to icmeler ,my eldest has now decided she wants to get married whilst were there i know we have to go to our own registra to get the revelvent forms ect .but what do we have to do regarding sorting things out once were there .she doesnt want a big wedding just get married on the beach and then go for a meal ect .where is the nearest consulate from icmeler is there one in marmaris ?any info would be greatly appreciated :D

hi jasmine,

theres a huge thread on getting married in turkey on the holiday truths website. you'd be better looking there although i do think a few of the forum members have married in icmeler and may be able to help you :D

I haven't got a clue but I just wanted to say fantastic, hope they have the best day ever which I am sure they will and you will all be so well looked after. Good luck to them and let us know how it goes :D

my friends got married in icmeler last week
they just contacted the hotel where they wanted their reception to be and they organised everything for them

You need to go to Izmır to get some paperwork.

yeah as cath said your right
but my friends got the consulate in marmaris to check everything over before they went to izmir so that they knew everything was going to be right to avoid a wasted trip
you also need to provide blood tests to show that you dont have any diseases

Are people with diseases not allowed to get married?

I think the blood tests only apply if you're marrying a Turk.... I'm sure it wouldn't apply to an English couple wanting to marry in Turkey.

maybe your right mazz
its so no diseases get passed on to their children or spouses
eg HIV
its compulsory in turkey but im not sure if its just for someone marrying a turk
but i know all turkish people must have it done
