Gunshots on the beach

Postby bikerjambo » 11 Oct 2010 13:35

Anyone else hear about this?
Fri. 24th Sept. Speaking to an English couple who were staying in the Blue Rainbow, they told us how the heard shots from the beach whilst in their room. On questioning one of the lads at the Istanbul he said it was ok as they were only firing in the air!

Strange :(

Yeah it was on the Saturday morning, the guy was heading towards the beach on a scooter and fired shots outside the melita/portofino hotel on the main road. The police closed the road for a bit.

My Mam and Dad are staying at the Blue Rainbow... They phoned me the day it happened.. It all started on the beach front. A row had started between two men.. One had a shot gun. The other man had asked his son? friend? to go and get his gun... a raffle... Shot where heard over Icmeler and one of the men got shot in the arm ... Mafia was not mentioned.. They are there for a month and haven't heard anything else about it ...

There was 4 empty shotgun cartridges on the path. 3 with traffic cones around them and 1 with a traffic cone next to it.

There was a lot of Police in the area, and there was a couple of pickup trucks and a tractor and trailer being loaded up with sunbeds etc.

When we walked past about 3/4 of an hour later, the last of the sunbeds where being removed and the Police where going away.

All this happened near some toilets on the the beach path at the end near the harbour.

Later in the day when talking to the man from the small Supermarket underneath the Prince Aparments, he said there had been a dispute about sunbeds.
