Double or double extended

Can anyone tell me the difference between double and double extended rooms. Most hotels offer these different rooms and I havent a clue. Any information greatly appreciated. Some places are the same price, some are different. Thanks, Carol

not rightly sure but i think the double extended rooms can fit 3 people in it
i hope someone will come and correct me if im wrong
