anyone going to Manchester airport next weekend please be aware that the M56 will be closed from Jun 9 - 7 east bound towards the airport from M6 direction over next weekend the 15th - 18th October it will close on Friday Night and re-open Monday Morning
Also coming back from the airport west bound will be closed from Jun 6- 8

I travel the length of the M56 daily, and will update if there are any changes, as there were last time it was supposed to close.
This is what is supposed to be happening:
The bridge will be demolished on the weekend commencing Friday 15th October to Monday 18th October. The new bridge will be installed the following weekend, commencing on Friday 22nd October to Monday 25th October.
so it will be closed Both Weekends, but as previously said I will Update any changes.

Also remember that during the week in between all traffic for the M6 southbound will be directed to Junction 10 to perform a U turn so traffic will be very slow west bound, this is due to Junction 7 being closed for the whole week.

Hi all,
This is to remind people of the M56 closure, 10pm Friday untill 5am Monday, it doesn`t look like it will be postponed this time.

I`ve also seen signs that the 56 is closed next weekend also 25th Oct untill 1st Novwill update next week

Again a reminder M56 Closed Friday 29th Oct 10pm until 1 Nov 5am

It looks as if this may be the last closure as there are NO signs in place for future dates.
