Aqua Hotel June 2010

Have just found this forum and have noted the warning about not bad mouthing etc, but wanted to comment on this hotel.
Generally it was pretty decent, and had good facilities, we were there just before the world cup started and they were just installing the large screen tv as we were wating for the trip home. Couple of things need to be sorted in my opinion and if done would make it a really good hotel.
1) the dining room was badly disorganised. Staff were always courteous and tried to be helpful but did not seem to know who should be doing what job. Some were trying to do everything, some were looking about for guidance and leadership and not getting any help. Sorting this out should not be difficult with a good Maitre d' in charge.
2) why do they insist in serving wine in such tiny glasses? We both enjoy a glass or two of wine with a meal, but were frustrated on a daily basis trying to get a glass. Last year we were in Lara and there they would simply put a bottle on the table and you had as much or as little as you wanted.
Even at the bar it was the same silly little glasses, so as I would normally have a beer, my wife would have to have two glasses served or I would have to make two trips, so petty and frustrating!
In both hotels, at Lara and the Aqua, we were AI.
Loved Icemeler and am now looking to go back next year!

Aqua Hotel - last week in August and 1st week of September - totally organised, two chaps in distinct uniforms fully in charge of all operations throughout our stay!

Several people asked for tall glasses for wine - no problems at all!

Pint glasses for beer if you REALLY needed to drink that fast!

Two head chefs also round at all meal times with name and rank badges who were happy to talk about the menus and meals coming up, loads of choice !

No burgers and no chicken nuggets - heaven !!

Several people asked for tall glasses for wine - no problems at all!

I remember quite a few years back my wife asked for a glass or white wine in a tall glass, she got a glass with the same small bowl size but with a tall stem, it actually cracked us up and we had a real good tummy chuckle.

stayed at the aqua hotel last october and found it fantastic..... would have no hesitation in going back. may even stay there next week when we are over. some people are NEVER happy

We can stop any comments like that right now please, we are all entitled to say what we think of a place, and remember what one person likes another might not!

My wife and I stayed half board at the Aqua in June and couldn't fault it in any way. We have already booked for the same time next year.
