Blue Rainbow-all inclusive

Postby Debs14 » 26 Sep 2010 13:11

Hi all
Have found a good deal to the Blue Rainbow for half term in october has anybody been there recently? Have only done self catering before but as this is our second holiday to turkey this year the pennies are a bit tight so thought this might be a better choice.

Not stayed there Debs so can't help on that front am afraid
BUT if you've found a good deal, you could always plan for the worst, take some spends and eat out at Pide places and take advantage of all the cheap booze that's on offer in that area eg Buffalo

Hi Debs we stayed at the Blue Rainbow last year and found it a nice small hotel. But due to them having half board and bed n breakfast they are a little strick on taking drinks to your room, soft drinks inc. It did seem a little silly but you can see their point as the balconys are close enough to pass drinks across, but i do like to have a drink when i get ready so bought a small bottle of Vodka and bottle of coke. Also be carefull if you have any rain as the steps are very slippery, no slip strips on the edge of marble steps. During our stay we had 2 ladies slip, one at the back near the resturant and the other at the side near the pool, Both needed medical attention. They do need a bit of updating with the decore. A lick of paint wouldnt go a miss but over all the staff are fab and the food was super. Lots of chicken though, but i like chicken. The booze isnt watered down like in most fully incs. The lads from the Blue Rainbow resturant at the side of the hotel are nothing to do with them and their food is average and drinks can get expensive and they can be a hassle around the pool. But if you get fed up with the food just visit Harry Rams who do the best pies and fish and chips in Icmeler. Or visit other resturants and as you have a wrist band on you get less hassle when passing them so you can go further to find different kinds of food. Have a fab time as we did. Steph xx :D

Hi Debs
My husband and I have stayed at Blue Rainbow for the last 6 years usually half board but last September all inclusive, the hotel rooms are small but clean, swimming pool large but you need to be a swimmer as it is deep and not suitable for children who cannot swim but the beach is on the doorstep, the food is very repetitive, usually chicken but passable not much choice on AI drinks, I drink Vodka my husband lager so we were alright we found staff very helpful, they have no entertainment in evenings All in all we found it good value for what we paid. Their are a lot of good value restaurants in the area, the Rainbow bar next door offered us 10% off if we were staying at the hotel

Hi Debs,
we stayed at the Blue Rainbow thi May, it is very clean, slightly dated, ideal location , for the money that you pay it is really good value, if you are lucky enough to geat a sea view in the high rooms you will have an outstanding view across the bay, the food was ok not tons of chioce but enough, pool was big, staff very friendly, would go back there, hope this hepls,

Adrian I don't get what you are warning people about.

Is it because the Rainbow had made a mistake or an operator did and overbooked.

Was the warning because the Rainbow did their best for these guests and put them into the nearest hotel of the same standard the Efes which is that close to the Rainbow you could climb over one wall into the others pool (which I may add the guests from Efes do).

I don't see anything wrong here and in fact fair play on the Rainbow for not just bumping the operators customers and putting them into the Efes on bed and breakfast basis but actually letting them still have their all inclusive at the Rainbow.

Well done to the Rainbow I say for fixing an awkward situation

Yes they did because on of our parties had to actually go in there.

When certain companies went bust some of the bookings were honoured by other companies but they failed to inform the Rainbow of the extra bookings so it was just as well that the Efes wasn't that busy and they could take the extra people

My first night at The Rainbow was spent at The Bonjour due to over booking, 5 other couples got shoved in The Alinda, it happens, but it happens every where not just at The Rainbow. I didn't let it spoil my holiday, was back at the rainbow the next day ( very hungover ) and had a great 17 nights there.
