Tickets on Departure, advice required

Postby stevie1960 » 20 Aug 2010 23:10

First of all we thought we would not be flying on 30th August because of the intended BAA strike, then we got the all clear but now travel agents cant find our tickets so they said we would pick them up on departure from the airport. Does anyone have any experience of this? We would much prefer to have tickets in hand as we feel too much can go wrong with little time to sort out any problems.

Hi
We had a similar experience allthough not quite the same a few years ago. We were going to Tunisia 3 couples, one week before departure our friends husband developed a bad back and couldnt go. but his wife decided to go and take a friend instead. My wife had organized the hol so she went to travel agent to change the details, allthough we had already received the tickets and it was 7 days to departure, so travel agent said to make sure we got the now ticket we should pick it up at the airport. On the day of departure my wife went with our new passenger to the Th**as C**k desk with there passport as proof of id and hey presto, ticked received no probs

Hi Stevie1960

You shouldn't have any problem but I would recommend taking some sort of written advice to produce at the ticket desk at the airport. If the person at the ticket desk isn't aware of the problem they may want to charge you an admin fee for 'reissuing' the tickets. However, if you have written instructions from the travel agent all should be well.

Have a lovely holiday.

I have picked up tickets a couple of times at the airport no problem with a late holiday deal so there should be no problem. As the above post states you should take proof of booking, payment etc. If there is any problem at all I should imaginge the staff at the desk where you are to pick up the tickets will sort it out. I was like you and would have rather have had my tickets in my hand but they are used to this and all will be fine.
