Half Term

Really got itchy feet and don't think I can wait until next year to go, so looking about getting out for a week at half term. However we do like the sun and wanted to ask will we still be able to sunbath and swim this time of year, only ever been to Turkey in July and Aug. Also as this is almost at the end of Oct will most of Icmeler be open? We loved the Venice, Majestic, Harry's, Cupids, Lal etc and would want to revisit on this little break. Also will boat trips still be running? Just trying to do the maths to see if the pennies can stretch, and convince the OH to do as much overtime as possible to make it happen. May consider staying closer to the town this time as it will be cooler in the day and might want to walk about a bit more, dunno, i did like the old village so much to consider.

Hi Lisa

We have been twice in October half term. Last year we did have a morning of rain (so we went quadbiking which was great) and a day over misty drizzly rain (so we went to mud baths as made no difference if damp).
Apart from that it was a really nice heat in October - too cold for the swimming pool but we were in the sea loads. We did a boat trip and there are still plenty of these to choose from. I can't speak for all the restaurants you have mentioned but the Venice was open as we ate there a few times. We normally stay in old village but like you in October we stay in the main part which is fine as not too busy.
We did walk up to old village a couple of times but it is mainly all closed at that time of year and looked a bit like a ghost town.
I wouldn't hesitate to go again in October...
Hope this helps with your decision and have a good time if you do
Lisa x

We usually go back to Icmeler for a week in October, and are doing so again this year. Maybe we've been quite fortunate, but we've always been lucky with the weather, and were on the beach most days. Yes, things are starting to quieten down, and some of the bars and restaurants will be closing towards the latter half of the month, but there are still plenty of places open, and because it's that little bit quieter, you often find the staff have more time to sit and chat with you too.
Also, it's a good time to pick up a bargain, as many of the shopkeepers and stallholders prefer to try to get rid of stock rather than have to hang on to it over the winter. We like Icmeler in October, it has a different feel than it does in high season, but it's still the Icmeler we all love! Can't wait to get back again - eight weeks and counting! :D

Hi Lisa,
We also go October half term as I work in the school so tied to holidays,we go May and October, as the other kind people have told you all you need, all I would add is that when we have been it has been lovely in the day, sunbathing until about 4.00pm then gets a bit chilly, goes dark earlier and it does go quite cool at night, would def take a jacket or cardi for night time, you will have a brill time, get hubby doing the overtime and get booked
Regards
Sue
