dolmus to the beach

Postby dsmith260 » 17 Aug 2010 08:14

We are staying at the club aquarium apartments at the back of icmeler this year and wanted to ask if a dolmus runs from there down to the beach where the stella show bar is during the day and night and which dolmus should we catch?

Anybody who has stayed at the apartments this year can you send me some reviews please.

cheers dave

hi to my knowledge there is not a regular dolmus ,down to the terminus on that side of the old village, there may be a council workers dolmus,on certain times ,but what those times are i don,t know.i must agree its quite a walk from there, and back after a long hot day is a marathon, i stay often just beside c/aq. and a taxis is used a good bit. it may improve one day who knows????? bye for now BILL

Hi Dave
The first time we went to Icmeler we stayed at Club Aquarium, the apartments are a good size , but may be a squeeze for 4, there were only 2 in our party. the views are great, there are 2 pools plus a kiddy pool.
The long walk back from the centre or beach could be broken by calling at Deja vu or another bar. its a fairly flat walk except for the last 200yds, where you go up a gradient.
Take a look at viewtopic.php?f=19&t=10672&p=98246&hilit=club+aquarium#p98246
There was a main road behind Club Aquarium where a dolmus may have passed but we never looked at this option, Also there is a free shuttle to the sister hotel where there are more Facilities Turkish bath, hairdresser etc.
We now stay nearer the centre, but would not hesitate to stay there again.
Hope this helps
Enjoy Steve 8) 8)

Hello,
You can walk to the other side of the river and catch a Dolmus there for 1 lira. I think there is a dolmus every 15 minutes and sometimes more often.
The belediye bus runs every our at 10 to ... hr. to the beachfront.
Have a nice time!

Hello
You mentioned that you caught a bus the other side of the river

do you have directions from club aquarium.
we have stayed at ekinci apartments and that is near the river

Take a look at viewtopic.php?f=19&t=10672&p=98246&hilit=club+aquarium#p98246

Do you cross the river to far side nearest mountains?

See my topic in which bus. From Aquarium walk to right site from the river to Tommy's retaurant. You can take the dolmus there to the beach. And backwards tell the driver you have to go to old village and let them stop at Tommy.
In evening time when you don't go to beach but just in the centre you can take the dolmus to old village at the big jewelery at the main road about half way. Many dolmusses and no problems, we always use them to the very backyard of Icmeler. Have a nice time

Hi
We have stayed in the old village twice and if you come out of aquariam and turn right ,walk to the wooden bridge over the dry canal and cross to Kosem,s shop you can get a dolmus there for the beach and vice versa back up to Kosems

Everyone seems to be getting confused.

They are staying at the CLUB and not the Grand Aquarium.

Best bet is to take the free bus from the Club to the Grand then follow Marians directions
