I did not see the smoking ban enforced in any restaurants or bars at all. In fact the only changes are that in some restaurants they now have No smoking signs and people are actually sat under or in the near vicinity of these signs and are still lighting up. when we ask the waiters why don't they make sure the ban is enforced they just shrug. They are all just completely disregarding the ban, both staff and customers and I think it is totally out of order. The last thing I want is smoke billowing my way when I am eating. I really hope they eventually make sure the smoking ban is enforced as it seems to me thay are just taking the mickey out of the Mayor and his proposals to make the resort safer and nicer for everyone. It especially annoys me when people still smoke if there are children near and even though outdoors if the breeze carries the smoke your way you get it full in the face and breathe it in. Its hardly any hardship to step outside for a few minutes if people want to enjoy a smoke- hardly cold and bracing is it?

Im a smoker but I can understand how smoking annoys many people, I dont smoke indoors even in the4 UK so smoking outside in Turkey wont be a bother to me, as long as I can smoke on my apartmen ts veranda ill be fine .
However, I assume that many Turks have seen how the UK smoking ban has affected many businesses and Im sure they dont want their businesses doing the same.

Returned this morning, ash trays in every restaurant we went to inside and out, I went outside to have a smoke and was repeatly told by the waiters I could smoke at my table.

As most Bars and Restaurants in
Icmeler if not fully outside are mostly partially outside and smoking is not so bad as in an enclosed room.
