Uysal Apartments

Postby redrhino12 » 08 Aug 2010 11:21

Had a e-mail today from these apartments telling me that he has let the room we booked for the 10th August till the 24th August for £40 a night we were paying £27.
He has no other rooms avaliable.
We travel in a couple days
All this because we dont want to use their over inflated transfare price.

That is really shocking Gene, afterall you have been going there for a number of years.
What are you going to do now?
Hope you get something sorted soon.
Good Luck

That is terrible. I would not leave it at that, I would post what they have done to you on every online forum and review site I possibly could and I would also find out if there is anything you can do about it. Surely the Mayor does not want this sort of thing happening to the very people who are bringing in work and boosting the economy in places like Icmeler. If they all did that then no-one would want to book or go there. They should not get away with this.
Hope you get sorted with somewhere else without having to pay a fortune.

That's terrible, Gene - especially when you and Anne have been such good customers of theirs for so long. They should value your loyalty.

Gene has called my wife and hopefully we will be able to work something out for him

This happens in high season and specially now as people are desperate for accommodations as goldtrail went bust

Very despicable and another reason not to ever book direct and to use an agency as then the agency would help if it happened.

Who do we turn to in our hour of need,First person I could think of was Sharon at ICR.
Sharon rang me back after 15 minutes with a couple of options and thankfully I have now something sorted and will be on that plane on Tuesday.

That's dreadful Gene!! And his transfer isn't even competitive, just over-priced.

Had you booked a particular room?

Just wondering as my mum and dad are due to stay there when we go Sept 2-17, they actually booked it when they were there last September.

Thank goodness you've sorted alternative accommodation!

Mazz the holiday had been booked 14 months ahead,we had requested a particular room but hey we are on holiday and would have gladly moved to another room if it was necessary.
But no other rooms were avaliable so hence a 40 hour notice from being booted onto the street.

Just be aware that in the peak months of July and August rooms can and do go to the highest bidder regardless of how many years you have been useing anyones services.

Still another lesson learnt here, but my trust in the Turkish carry on again takes a hit.

Hmmmm, it's still not on Gene, especially at such short notice!

I emailed Halil today and he's confirmed everything is OK with mum and dad's reservation - so fingers crossed it stays like that!

Anyway I'm sure you'll enjoy Icmeler just as much as usual, despite this. Keep the sunshine nice and warm and please leave some Efes for those of us who still have a few weeks to wait for our slice of heaven!

Have a great time
