It is still hot during the day and you will still get a tan but not as unbearably hot as it can get in July and August. I have known it rain on occasion, not often though but I get an umbrella here from the pound shop just in case and leave it there. Good excuse to sit in a bar though if its raining! The first couple of weeks in October you will find everywhere open but I have found just a few places start to close after that and at by the end of October nearly everywhere is shut, a lot of the places shut at end of October. I have found the pool/sea too cool to go in at this time of year, one year it was an exceptionally hot summer and the pool was ok in October but that was just the one year. You will need a cardi or light jacket at night as it can get quite cool or I always use a pashmina that you can get quite cheap in the market or along the canal. I love it at that time of year, is not real busy but not quiet, a happy medium really.
A tip- in October you can get really cheap deals from the markets and shops as they will soon be closing for the season, you have to usually haggle though but it can be fun and they expect it!

Hi we went a couple of years ago at end of October and it was warm enough to walk about in summer clothes and sunbathe (they did have some rain week before though). Temperature does drop quite a bit at night so will need some form of cover up. Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants still open and quite a few other holidaymakers there. It was nice cos atmosphere was more laid back ,we got more attention and they were able to spend more time chatting with us.

We usually go in October and so far, we've always been lucky with the weather- currently attempting to get booked for this October, fingers crossed! I personally think it's a lovely time to visit - things are a lot quieter and places are starting to close, but it's still nice, and as others have said, the staff usually have more time to chat, etc.

Yes, everything is as usual. The only thing is it does get dark quite early so I would imagine they dont stay out so long. Have never been on one that time of the year. Beautiful time to go.

See you there Kev................got to laugh, there are only 31 rooms at the Efendi. What are the chances of you, me and Barbara staying there at the same time who happen to be on this message board?!

Ye got to admit using this forum has its advantages, you certainly get a real feel for your holiday and the ppl that are staying at the same hotel. This is our first time to Turkey and can honestly say I have never been this excited.
We are traveling with Big Al and Grainne, and was just wondering if i should get myself a "T" with my name on it for a laugh. Although me and Al do have our shorts.

Kev,
We're also planning another holiday for October so will look out for your shorts. Might even try to get hold of a pair for the OH later this evening!
We've been visiting icmeler in October for several years now and have enjoyed pretty good weather. We have had the odd storm and day or so of clouds & rain but it's still much better weather than at home! It does get dark earlier and I have always found that I need a light cardi during the evenings but the sun is definitely strong enough to get a tan during the day. There are usually bargains to be had because the shopkeepers are keen to have the money rather than packing their goods away for another season and everybody seems quite chilled out and relaxed, especially the staff who are looking forward to returning to their families at the end of a hot & busy summer.
Hope everyone enjoys their hols.
