Icmeler and teenagers

Postby fiftysue » 31 Jul 2010 14:23

This is the first time I will be travelling on my own with my teenage son and daughter.Going to Icmeler on advice from friends,at my age I should not be so apprehensive, but I must admit I am.Not too sure about the possible hassle from eager shop owners etc but from all the posts I've read that a polite no should suffice.Any advice would be most helpful.

The hassle is much better than it used to be. They will speak to you and ask you if you want whatever they are selling, but usually a polite no thanks is more than suffice. I would say the worst culprits for hassling now are the trip sellers, followed secondly by the barbers.

Have a great time in Icmeler, I couldn't think of a nicer place to go to on your own with two teenagers.

Call in at Havana Bar, no hassle in there at all, and there are things for the teenagers to do ( pool table, computer games etc )

*Watch out for that coffee cup though*

Hi there,
I have been going with my daughters on my own for the last few years and always feel at home. You will probably get the chat up line is that your daughter thought you were sisters but just laugh at them. Elvis bar is very comfortable and Jim is really friendly. There are lots of bars and restaurants where you will have a really good time and not feel out of place. I have never had much trouble with the hassle just say no thanks and walk on. Although like the previous comment the trip sellers and hairdressers are the worst this year. I am sure you will enjoy it and dont worry all will be fine. You will also meet people where you are staying so if you are unsure ask to go with them. I have always met lovely people on holiday so I would even go on my own. Have a great time.
