Icmeler Online Holiday Forum & Reviews - Turkey

I have to plot a bus +train journey from Marmaris to Istanbul and then to UK. I have tried searching but can't find what I want. Has anyone seen one on the net or can helpI would be very grateful if i was pointed in the right direction. This is not for me, heaven forbid. If the mods think this is the wrong forum please delete but I think given the ash cloud it may have occurred to others, personally I would just stay there until it blew over, no pun intended.

Not sure if it will help, but certainly if you need to go by road, you could look at ViaMichelin.com I use this site a lot.

You can then click departures and choose Marmaris --> Istanbul and it seems that the buses leave every evening at 7.00 or 9.00 pm. Ticket costs only 90 TL. Have not yet tried the bus, but I'm very interested as it might be a real adventure

Thank you for your comments and information but I do agree. Fancy trying that when you could sit it out in lovely Icmeler. That at least puts me on the right track.

My friend came to Icmeler with us in June, and she went off to Istanbul on the bus to visit friends for a few days, then came back to finish her holiday with us, she used to live in Izmir, and is a seasoned bus traveller in turkey.
Im sure if you can pm me your details, she would be only to happy to help you, she isnt on this forum, so I will have to call her and ask her, Im not sure how the pm works on here, let me know ok? hope this helps!

Thats the easy bit Marmaris to Istanbul, it is the next three days Istanbul to London which takes some planning as there does not appear to be a direct service each stage between major cities would have to be investigated.
The Train takes 3 nights to cover the distance and costs almost £600 return the coach should be cheaper but what a trip jumping on and off and waiting about....urgh..
