What meal do you go back and have time and time again

Postby kentlisa » 19 Jul 2010 20:02

I loved the post about your three top restaurants and I got some great recommendations where to try. But what is your favourite meal? Is it a local dish or some home from home cooking dish that you always go back and have when you return to Icmeler?

Hi
thanks for commenting on 3 top restaurants thread as that was started by me so i thought i'd return the favour and reply to your thread.
My favourite meal definately has to be the 'Ottoman Dream' at Harry's restaurant - it consists of a Turkish type lamb and chicken casserole served over a sizzling flame and comes with bowls of salad, chips, rice and jacket potatoes. This is to share and last time we went was 39 lira and we shared it between 2 adults and a child. It's amazing!!!!
Now I've finished arguing over this with my other half here are his favourite meals narrowed down to 2!!!
1 - Chicken palak at Waterfall restaurant with at least 2 or 3 cold Efes as it is quite hot (the curry that is not the weather!!!)
2 - Harry's steak at Harry's steakhouse obviously!!! This is about 2 inches thick and just melts in your mouth!!!
Only 9 days til we will be sampling some of the delicious cuisine in Icmeler!!!!

Oh thats easy, pate to start and then Rack of Lamb at the lighthouse. Always eat here on our first night and never need a menu. How sad is that :D :D

At The Selam Chicken Topkia excuse spelling yummmmmmy it's number 69 on the menu.

I loved the Romance Special Chicken in the Romance Palace.... Chicken in a creamy supreme sauce with prawns - omg delish!
and Ozzie's Chicken Parmesan - so melt in the mouth and so big its impossible to finish.

and not surprisingly as its my favourite thing to eat, Eden Garden Turkish Salad - laden with olives - way better than any Ive tasted in Greece - I had one for lunch nearly every day....

(- No meat features in my diet - dont like it much.)

I must admit, I do try NOT to eat the same dishes time and time again, as there's just so much delicious food in Icmeler and I want to try as much variety as possible. However, I have had the fillet steak at Harry's a couple of times, as it's so tender and cooked exactly how I like it. Same with the leg of lamb at the Bonjour - had it twice, as it's so melt-in-the-mouth delicious.
