after the crappy start we had to the week (see thanks to icr) just imagine how I felt when the wife said let`s check the case`s.So down they came off the top of the wardrobe hitting me on head on the way down took out the fishing gear, snorkling stuff ect.and at the bottom was the wallet I use on holiday, here you are she says take out all the cards from resturants, hairdressers and what have you from last year.So I opened it up and instead of all the cards there was 305 lira inside it.`THAT `will do nicely as someone once said, now I really am looking forward to jollidays

I had a nice surprise too, found a £50 travellers cheque and 70 lira in my piggy bank a few days ago! That will do nicely for my extra long holiday starting tomorrow :D

It's good to stash money in places like your suitcase because you're obviously gonna forget about it and have a lovely surprise when it comes to the next trip

Aw that's great for you unitedman - I've only got a couple of kuroush [sp] :(
Don't forget to check the type of notes though? Am almost sure that the Yeni Turkish Lira [YTL] have now been withdrawn but you can exchange them at the bank for the current type of notes.

Someone more knowledgeable than me will be along to put you right if I'm wrong
