Oh not another one, thats awful.

But even worse, I was holding on to book a flight for Aug 4th with them.

Good luck to everyone who has booked with them, I hope you get everything sorted soon.

Will this have any effect on Aegean Flights? I think many of us have flights booked for next year with Aegean.

Just read the news on the travel weekly website:

Goldtrail Holidays fails with 16,000 overseas
Jul 16, 2010 19:00

Goldtrail Holidays has gone into administration with an estimated 16,000 people overseas.

CAA head of Atol licensing Andy Cohen confirmed the Turkey specialist had failed at about 18.00hrs on Friday evening, but said the authority was still "in the dark on detail".

"It went into administration only an hour ago and I came straight back into work," he told Travel Weekly. "We are requesting information as we speak."

Cohen said the failure was not on the scale of XL Leisure Group which collapsed in September 2008 leaving 60,000 holidaymakers overseas.

"We will be able to deal with this one in-house," he confirmed.

Speculation had been rife for some time that Goldtrail could be experiencing difficulties, but even Cohen, who only this month predicted a spate of failures this year, "particularly of operators to the Eastern Med", said the timing of company's demise had been "a shock for all of us".

We booked flights through travel r******* to fly with onur air in three weeks time, The booking says they are acting as agents for Goldtrail and we have entered into a contract with Goldtrail. On the receipt the flight provider is Goldtrail so looks like we will be affected. Going to phone Travel R******* tomorrow and will post an update.

We were looking forward to the 20th Aug for our holiday but this seems to have thrown a bloody big spanner in. We booked hotel and flights through Sunshine, flight supplier was Goldtrail - don't know where we stand until we get on the phone on sat/mon.

Sunshine is a trading name of Hays Travel Ltd.

I will be very interested to now what they say about this. I know a lot of people who use them (Sunshine) because they know Hays has been going for years and is a locale company.

If you have booked flights directly with Aegean Flights who are linked to Holidays4U you should be all right but if you have booked a package holiday through Goldtrail using Aegean flights unfortunately you will be effected.
