DON'T use change offices banks Hotels etc. All will give you a lesser rate than the supermarket underneath ICR Office.

Sorry to hear about your experience at a money exchange office this also happen to me a few years ago, there is always plenty of members on this forum advising the use of supermarkets first then the banks. If it is a necessity to use the exchange office always ask for details as to what to will receive but try to avoid them.

Ask the supermarket what thier rate is for cash, once you have that ask them if it is the same for TC, most give the same rate but I don't know if all do. We use the BEST supermarket opposite the Romance restaurant and always get the same rate.

Just to let everyone know that this also happened to me last week in the supermarket (not sure of the name) which is on the opposite side of the street from the waterfall about 50 yards on down - he offers quite a good rate! My advice would be that if you are going to get money changed have it worked out before you go - i had it worked out in my head and caught it on right away - he tried to say he had hit the wrong button on his calculator - love it!!

do you mean the supermarket on the corner Tink? If so, it's probably the Galeria [sp] supermarket

I'm not shy when I change my money - I let them count it out and then I leave it on the counter before asking the exchange rate again and ask to borrow their calculator to work it out and count it out for myself again! Happy to say i've only ever come across the odd "mistake", and that's usually when I'm still very white haha

Yes that sounds like the one. We changed a lot in the large supermarket facing the loveboat - always a good rate, never any problems and pleasant to go into. I was on my own when I had the problem changing money so I don't know if he thought that was a good opportunity to chance his arm!
