Hotel Private or Kapmar - Accommodation Changed :( Help!

Postby Jackel » 27 Jun 2010 16:58

Hello All,

We are a group of 9 due to fly out on 30th July. We had booked 4 family rooms at the Private Hotel, as we knew that they would be bigger ( as we are quite a big family overall!).

Yesterday we received a letter from T***** C***, basically saying that we'd been down-graded to 4 twin rooms, which would obviously be much more cramped (especially for the room with 3 adults!). :(

So, they said they have no alternative accommodation except for the Fantasia which would be £4000 extra to what we have paid (no thanks!)

Anyway, they've told us we could have a full refund but will not give any compensation or anything (nice customer service I don't think!)...

So we are now in a dilemma, we've since been looking at the Hotel Kapmar, and cancelling the Private and re-booking for the Kapmar (the Kapmar would come out cheaper for us overall too which is always a bonus!) Where is the Kapmar situated? We've been to Icmeler a few times so should know!

We only really use the hotel for showering, sleeping, and occasionally the pool. The pool at the Private looks slightly better, but we're not sure :(

Any opinions would be good on which accommodation we should choose? Stick or twist? Anyone been to either recently and have any thoughts?

Many Thanks in Advance!

You may want to consider 2 X Dursun 2br Apartments, enough space up to 12 people then.

Villamar has some triple rooms and is near Private Hotel.

Kapmar is also a good equivalent selection.

Do a quick search on http://www.icmeleronline.com and see what comes available and for further assistance, do not hessitate to call us 0151 289 3939

The Kapmar is the right size for your party, and sounds like it's value for money this year.

I hope the new owners have spent a bit on it as it was just going to seed a couple of years ago on our 2nd stay there - basic and sagging at the time, but super staff who always did their best for you.

Many people used to ridicule the old man as the owner, but we got on ok with him.

We ate in there most of the time three years ago and didn't have one rough tummy all trip. it does help if you like more turkish style food, but I'm not one for Sunday lunch and Yorkies in 40 degree heat !

It's really in a prime position and I could see it being very popular with a bit of money invested in it!

Central for everything and a wonderful outlook over to the flag on the hill, once showered and waiting to go out at night!
