Help, please. We are going to L'etoile Hotel for 2 wks from this Friday, and looking at the reviews I think I may have made a mistake!! Has anyone been there or know of it? I have three teenagers 15, 17, 19 and looking at the reviews there is not much to keep them busy. Any advice ?

Hi Bev,
See your off this week a little bit far on to start thinking a bout making changes now, wait until you get into Icmeler and assess the place. The Hotel is ideally located in the centre and very close to the sea front and I am sure
your 3 teenagers will find enough around and about to make it into a good holiday for you all.

Hi Bev. We went to L'Etoile last year with 13 year old daughter. Hotel is fine, food and entertainment poor. the only entertainment round pool was water polo which was every afternoon for about 2 hours. Not much good if you wanted a dip in the shallow end. Internet in hotel but the internet was free next door.
Bar shut at 11pm (not a minute later) everything in hotel was quiet by 11.30.
Hotel is ideally situated right next to beach and central for everything. Not much in hotel for your
teenagers but my daughter made loads of friends and had a great time.
You should have good time beacuse we did and met loads of lovely people.
We are going back to Iclemer end of July but staying across the road at the Prince Apartments.
If you want any more info, just ask.
Have a great time
Mo

we're going there 23 july, looking forward to it. have had a good look at other reviews and most of them are positive. I reckon there's more positive than negative.

My daughters friends parents stayed there last year with their 14 year old son and they liked it, rooms were nice etc, hence why we booked and they're used to all sorts of all inclusives. They didn't stay in for the entertainment they went out about 9ish and met up with us and had the odd meal out. They liked the choice of food on offer and their son who was a bit fussy had burger and chips at snack time but got a takeaway at night if he didnt like what was on offer.

Also its nearly on the beach which is what we're looking forward to, the view from the restaurant onto the gardens and beach beyond will do me nicely. Have you had a look at the pictures on trip advisor there was nearly 70 of them when i looked the other week.

Your teenagers will go out to eastenders or pleasure I imagine at night.

What we're planning on doing is eating out every 2 or 3 nights depends on spending money but going to bars about 10pm anyway.

I think you'll be fine, i know i'm not at all worried.

Having stayed at some cheap n cheerful self catering apts, i'll be quite happy to not have to worry about paying 5tl for a soft drink or plate of chips during the day.

I hope you enjoy it and please report back.

Hi Bev. Have been going to L'etoile for 5 years now. Hotel very clean, staff friendly, food good, although it does get a bit repetative the 2nd week, but it isn't surprising when you have to cater for so many. The entertainment isn't good, but better than it was when we first went there. Selma, the entertainment girl does work extremely hard to get people involved. The hotel is also right on the beach and is also pretty central for the shops and not too far to walk to the market on a Wednesday. I am sure that you family will find plenty to keep them amused even if it is outside the hotel grounds. You will love it there. Hope that you have a wonderful holidy :)

Thank you all so much for taking the time to reply x Have had a look at the photo's mentioned and the hotel looks fab. I was just a bit worried about some negative reviews, but I suppose you can't please everyone. Only packing to do now :( xx

I stopped in the L'Etoile in 2006,2007 & 2008. The hotel itself is ideally situated near the beach and the bars. The rooms are clean and tidy. The food was ok to start with but ended up getting sick of it. Things like yoghurt soup wasn't really for me (and I will eat ANYTHING lol). Didnt stop for the entertainment on the night as me and the girlfriend like a wander out. The daytime entertainment was the same each day. Water aerobics then waterpolo. Pool area is big but you may find certain days you will struggle to get a sun lounger as a lot of people seem to go down at about 6am to pop towels on the sunloungers and then go off on day trips (that part really annoyed me).

It is a really nice hotel but for me the food was repetitive and boring. We go either B&B or Self Catering now as eating out in the different bars in Içmeler is far better.

I hope I havent put you off too much, Its a lovely hotel but just not for me any longer

we've never stayed there Bevd but passed by it lots of times - I'd pay more attention to the medium to good reviews if I were you [some folk just like to moan!]

you'll be in Icmeler after all and I defy anyone to come back without having a fantastic time 8) 8) :D

I wouldnt say anybody is moaning on here, I think they are just saying about past experiences they have had with this hotel (be it good or bad).

I have to fully agree with you here. We went for our 1st time in 2006 as it was a cheap holiday (£606 for 2 of us AI for 1 week in the L'Etoile) and now we go back every year (albiet not to the L'Etoile) :D

hi DJ, i didn't realise Bevd was referring to the reviews on here and i didn't intend to offend anyone who has posted a "bad" review

What I mean is that there are some people who do like to moan for moaning sake, especially where they've got a bargain hol and expect top notch everything

Perhaps it would have been better if I'd said why not read ALL of the reviews on here and elsewhere, then take a balanced view on that

Also, i forgot to add in my original post that we've been past the place lots of times and it looks nice enough - with a good pool area 8)

Hi Fanny and DJ

Many thanks for your replies, I have checked out lots of reviews (on different sites) and there are many more good reviews so it can't be that bad can it! We are going tomorrow so I will soon see. Thanks again xx I will post a review when I get home
