How busy this year?

Postby Turuncveteran » 26 Jun 2010 19:04

There have been plenty of media reports that Turkey is/will be very popular this year. How have those who have been already found it?

Stayed at the Dilhan 27th May till 10th June. Normally at that time of year the hotel is half full at best. This year it was almost full. Seems as though people are dodging the euro zone.

During our holiday 24th May -4th June Icmeler though not overcrowded was busier for that time of the year than we had ever known before. Our hotel and the restaurants that we went to were saying they were pleased with the trade that had come their way for the first month of the season. From what I have picked up I would say that the indications are this is going to continue in the months ahead, you just have to look at the numbers of newcomers on this forum........enjoy

June 10th - 24th :- Found it very quiet for the time of year in Icmeler. I guess i must have gone to all the wrong places if the reports are right and it is much busier.

got back on june the 22nd and it was busy but not uncomfortably so.A couple of friends we have out there are reps and they are rushed off their feet with airport runs and claim it is far buisier than last year and are anticipating a bumper july and august.

We were in Icmeler 7th to 21st June.

The beach was much busier than usual for the time of year - very crowded at times - but the restaurants were comparatively quiet. I think lots of people have opted for AI.

Whilst I wouldn't opt for AI myself, I can understand the popularity as we found Icmeler very expensive this year.

was very expensive this year.was not expecting it at all. spent much more than we normally do and as we have been before we know what to expect. i think it is a real shame but we will all return. just hope it doesnt put people off.

we had a few of them. Not for financial reasons just principal. Could have eaten like a king daily as i could at home but why should i pay over the odds. Was a great holiday dont let me detract from that but it was a lot more expensive. You have been warned and have a good holiday all.

Pide is like Turkish pitta bread, and is often served like a kind of pizza, with different toppings. You also get lahmacun, which is topped with minced meat and herbs.

Just a point folks.

Some people get the hump and go off on one when one of the moderators locks a topic like this.

Look at it from someone looking in for info about the topic title which was "how busy is the resort this year".

We are now way off the mark talking about Turkish pizza so one of the reasons things get locked as this is annoying to some people.
