wispers the music shut down is at 12, but you can still stay in the bars for as long as you want. if you want music, your only option is a nightclub

Most Bars stay open long after 12 o'clock when the music is turned down to a level where people can talk to each other while enjoying further drinks and will remain open as long as they have any customers.

There are a lot of people who have discovered Icmeler and its unique method of conduct concerning the running of Bars and Night Clubs and return time after time because this is their preference in satisfying their needs.
If Icmeler was to become like anywhere else where noise dominated the place until dawn what would be the point as these type of holidays exist in many locations so why spoil Icmeler which has a little of everything and is a one off.
In addition to the 2 Night Clubs in Icmeler Bar Street in Marmaris is only 10 -15 minutes away.

Well said, John V - if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Icmeler's unique atmosphere is partly why so many of us return time and time again. If you want all night entertainment and music, go to Marmaris instead.

Oh I love the fact that the music is turned down at 12o'clock, then you can speak with people you have met from other places without shouting , one of the main reason's we return to Icmeler year after year.

We used to go to Marmaris, but after trying Icmeler for a change, we've never been back. Icmeler has it all for us. The music being turned down at midnight isn't a problem. That's when you can sit and enjoy the atmosphere and chat to the staff in the bars who are normally too busy to stop and talk. We've been in bars till 4am and had a really good time without the music blasting our eardrums. Each to their own. If you want to dance the night away to loud music, go to Marmaris.

One of the main reasons we go to Icmeler is the fact that after 12 there is no loud muisc. This year we also discovered Sabris bar which always had background music on to enjoy. However we spent the night talking to others in the place, which is much more enjoyable than screaming at each other, like you would need to do for example in Dream 3 bells

I agree with most other posters.
We discovered Icmeler for the first time last year and it is a special place in terms of its setting and atmosphere
I for one am happy with the way it is and long may it continue.

Most of the Greek Islands set aside one "lively" resort, so I suppose that is similar to the Icmeler / Marmaris situation.
A trip to Marmaris is ok if you want clubs etc. I m more than happy with what we have.

I havnt visited icmeler yet, we go in august, but it amazes me that the dolmus stops, as we went to gumbet last year and the dolmus ran all night between gumbet - bodrum. I just wonder why it doesnt in marmaris-icmeler ? As far as I can tell the 2 resorts are as close as each other and if anything marmaris is a bigger party place than bodrum ~? I know we never visited bodrum at night (as a family) but we may well visit marmaris at night, esp as things close early in icmeler - we like a few drinks lol, and never seem to to get out at night till about 9pm after a snooze - post pool/sun/shower lol Dont want to have our meal then have to go to bed or be bored.

I know what you mean and this was what thought I before visting Icmeler a few years ago. You'd be surprised about what theres to do though.

If you don't go out until 9 and don't finish your meal until, for example, half 10 you still have an hour and a half to soak up the atmosphere until the music goes off. You can then sink drink after drink until you're content without the music, unless you visit the deniz or the one of the two nightclubs (Club Pleasure or Eastenders), and you can also have a good chat with some of the staff from the restauraunts/bars. Sometimes a chat with them doesn't seem very appealing but a lot of them are very nice people! It's good to get to know them and sometimes helps form friendships that can last many years!

You still have a chance to visit Marmaris although I do believe it's the Turkish version of Blackpool.
