T***** C*** flight 30th May (the day delay)

Postby sueles810 » 13 Jun 2010 11:34

Hi, just wondering how many ICR people were on that dreadful flight that got delayed until the next day, we obviously were on it, just wondered how many more poor people only got a 6 day holiday instead of 7

Sorry to hear your holiday was cut short because of the delay.

Where did you fly from and why was there a day delay?

Hi, sorry fogot to put it was from Manchester  well everything was going just brilliant, arrived early , checked in straight away, spent a lovely couple of hours in the vip lounge(thats our treat every year) boarded on time, lovely big plane lots of leg room, individual tv screens on seats, back of plane so just hubby and me together, gets to time to fly, comes and goes, thinking we are just waiting for another flight slot to come up, no such look, anyway to cut a very long story short, about 2 hours later we are finally offloaded, apparently some dear  man that drives the trucks that bring the baggage to the plane had crashed into the plane damaging the skin of the plane, had no other plane or crew available, so had to go to the Raddison for the night and fly the same time next day, hence the 6 day holiday, sorry reply a bit lengthy

Sorry to hear about your delay, one positive is that they looked after you as they should although I know that does not cover the day you lost.

Yes even though you were well looked after, it doesn't really make you feel any better by losing a days holiday, but hopefully you enjoyed the 6 days that you had there.

Similar happened to us a couple of years ago with T C . Didn't actually board the plane but it had technical problems and we were initially informed that delay would be 5 hours :( . However they managed to get us another plane but we had to wait for it to arrive from Gatwick . When it did arrive it was 'huge' , had loads of legroom and empty seats all over the place . Ended up with only 2 hour delay but very comfortable journey ,... happy days :D

One good thing about this, is that it wasn't incompetance from TC, but some numpty driving at the airport. Not that it was good for you of course :( but you know what I mean.

We last year got delayed by this company. Just when you just want to get home on a night flight from Dalaman, they cancel your plane, don't tell you what's going on, and merge your flight into a later one by putting on a wide bodied plane the sort they'd usually use for long haul. Even was jealous of Onur taking off on time ahead of us
