Yes, apparently they are being very very strict now - we saw someone in the next check-in queue getting charged and having a big row with the staff over it.

yeah i can imagine we got charged a couple of years ago at glasgow airport going to antalya
my mum wasnt happy at paying £75 or something like that
the women said you can put the excess wait in your hand luggage and my mum said to her what is the point in that the extra weight is still going on the plane
unfortunately our hand luggage wasnt big enough to fit anything else in it

Just goes to show what a nonsense rip-off excess baggage charges are!! Just as well they don't make people stand on the scales after a fortnight of good eating and drinking in Icmeler

What always puzzles me is that 2 tiny little lassies of 8 stone a piece have to pay the same excesses for overweight luggage as 2 strapping lads of 18 stone each.
