My adult family, hubby and myself are coming home to Icmeler in less than 4 weeks and can't wait. We are all looking forward to going on some boat trips, but my daughter has just found out she is pregnant. She will be about 14 weeks when we go and is not sure if she should go on the boat anymore. Has anyone been while in early stages of pregnancy and recommend it? She doesn't get sick at the moment, but feels sick and thinks the boat trip would probably make her ill! She was going to go on the jeep safari, but has vetoed that now, too dangerous. Any comments would be appreciated.

Pregancy is part of normal life, the body is built for it. I can't see a problen with a boat trip, and the jeep safari will be OK if you explain to the driver that he needs to take it easy, no rough rides off road etc. My wife has a glass back after a road accident and we explain this to the driver who then takes it easy.

Congratulations for the future and becoming a grandma, I am sure you will have years of pleasure ahead of you.

I would not recommend the mud bath trips by boat if your wife is pregnant without checking the weather first, the tide can change to my experience last week and we ended up in a tidal wave, if you ask ICR they will be able to inform you of the weather conditions whereas the kiosks on the front dont

We went on a boat trip last Saturday to turtle beach and the mud baths. They tell you on the boat not to go in the mud bath if you are pregnant.

Last summer we took a boat trip to Dalyan and somebody recommended us the ship called "Orca". It was a big steel ship ( not wooden like the smaller ships) and due to it's size, it was much more comfortable (and steady) for the longer voyage. It departed from Marmaris port and they picked us up from our hotel. I think that smaller wooden boats are nice for a lazy day out though. I was told that it only operates on certain dates, maybe you can check this when booking the trip.

We went to the mud baths about 4 years ago and the whole day was a great experience from turtle beach through the reeds where the movie the African Queen was made, seeing the tombs of Kaunos and finishing with a dip in the mud baths, went again last year and it was terrible, everything up until the mud bath was the same but the actual mud baths was a masssive disappointment we took friends who had'nt been before and we felt like we let them down, there was so many people trying to get into the place at the same time that it took out all the enjoyment out of it and the actual mud where it had been lovely thick mud the first time we went had now just turned into very thin dirty water,there was so many people using it all the mud had gone, we were rushed around everywhere and they could'nt get us back on the boat fast enough it ruined the whole day and i certainly would not go again or recommend it to anyone again, when we came back we were told ( too late) that it was'nt a one off it was like that all the time now, a great experince ruined.

the orca was the one which crashed into our little wooden one and demolished the jetty it operates on a monday

thanks all for your replies. We've decided not to go to the mud baths this time. Polly, didn't even think about pregnant women not going in the mud, I was more thinking that the trip would be very long and uncomfortable for my daughter. Thanks again Jean.
