The Turks love children and generally love to make a fuss of them - but I'm sure if you tell them she is very shy, she will be fine. As you say, it may even help to bring her out of her shell a wee bit - you'll know best how to handle the situation though. I'm sure the Turks wouldn't want to upset her in any way, as they do tend to go out of their way to make sure the children are enjoying themselves.
I know my son (who's now 15!) found it a bit of a culture shock the first time we went to Turkey, as he was not at all used to being cuddled and even kissed by strangers! :D He's getting used to it a bit more now though...

the turkish are very friendly as blondie said
but if you tell them or they sense that she is very shy they will hold back and just maybe try and speak to her a little bit or say hi
they are very good at judging what is acceptable and what isnt in every diffenent case
hope this helps :)
have an amazing holiday

We've just got back with our 18 month old, and the Waiters etc could not have been friendlier.

She has also come on so much in the last two weeks due to the constant attention and new faces wanting to talk to her.

I think she will be fine.

When we first went to Turkey our son was 3 and our daughter was 10 both quite shy in their own ways but the Turkish do know how to handle the situation and will back off if they feel they would be upsetting your daughter. Free ice cream and lollypops will do the trick, I bet she is a different girl all together when you get back. My kids love Icmeler but we missed it last year and went to Spain and this year finances won't stretch to a holiday so looks like I will have to miss it again. Next year though definately. Children are the main priority in life in Turkey and they will do anything to make them feel welcome. Enjoy your holiday :D
