Good Jewellers...

Postby laura180306 » 17 May 2010 20:42

Well, it's just as well we're off to Icmeler in just over 6 weeks, as I've just broken my engagement ring :(
So, looks like my hubby will have to replace it!! Any recommendations.... :?:

We usually use the same one every year and have never had any problems, always a very good service and not pushy at all. The lad we deal with has now opened his own shop and is called Hira fine jewellery. He is called Nazmi and i would highly recommended him.

Firstly, is it badly broken? If not could it be fixed?
We've had jewellery fixed at a little jewellers around the back of Buffalo bar, not sure of the name of the shop but he's fantastic. I think it's next to a laundrette. Last year i took a ring that was twisted and ruined, he melted it down, added a bit of gold and some rubies and now i have a lovely eternity ring which is excellent. He can make anything you ask, just give him a design that you want and he'll do it. He's super cheap too. There must be something in the air as my engagement ring lost a diamond in February and i've been waiting since then until our holiday in June to take it to turkey to get it fixed by this chap.

If you're looking at buying new then i can recommend Aquamarine, the husband and i got our wedding rings from there in 2007 and when we got home we found the same ring as my wedding ring in a local jewellers for about £500 more. H's is unique i've never seen anything like it before again.

We would recommend Firuze by the Pleasure night club, Murat and Sonia will really look after you.

I agree if your ring is only broken get it repaired, My wife takes her broken jewellery with her, we pop in the shop on day one and two days later pick it up all fixed and cleaned and it costs pennies but most times nothing at all as we are regular customers and buy something their every year whether it be £80 or £500.

And so you should, my wife treats herself every year and then asks me to pay, no objections though as she is definately worth it.

We have a lovely jewellery shop inside the Selen 2 Hotel. There are only 2 retailers allowed to sell Tag and Breitling watches in Marmaris/Icmeler and we are one of them so you can be assured of our reputation. My husband would be more than happy to help you out :D

I would love a real TAG watch, are they cheaper in Turkey than the UK and do you still get the same guarantee.

Yes to both questions :) They are also tax free so you claim money back at Dalaman airport. If you check the official tag website you can see that we are listed as an authorised retailer :D

Everyone has their favorites!
I can recommend the Sultan jewellers (under Prince aparts, opposite Cupids) I always use them there's never any pressure to buy. They will also give you a good price if you're selling jewellery especially if you're buying something new, I've done some pretty good deals there over the years!

can't remember the name of the repair jewellers either, but recommend them highly - it's run by Dino and his wife Linda. In fact it's them that a lot of the jewellery shops in Icmeler use to make adjustments and repairs

I got 2 bracelets repaired there last year for next to nothing. One of the bracelets is a bangle with a diamond in it and after reading some horror stories on here [not about this jewellers I have to say], I was worried that they'd replaced the diamond
BUT pleased to report that I got the stone checked out by a local jewellers in England, and it's still a diamond - must say I felt terribly guilty for doubting, but very relieved

I am just back from Icmeler and took advice from the forum and visited the Star Gold & Silver jewellers, which has a workshop attached. I was quoted 70 YTL to have work done on a bracelet by another jeweller and went to Star Gold & Silver and had the work done for 15YTL. I also had a lovely white gold ring made for 70 YTL and collected both the next night. My jewellery was also cleaned that night with no additional charge. The same night I was looking in another jewellers and the guy said to me your ring is needing cleaned - what does that tell you?
The shop is near Efes hotel. I would highly recommend Star Gold & Silver and it is well worth seeking it out.
