Icmeler Online Holiday Forum & Reviews - Turkey

Hello, we go to icmeler every year twice a year and just wondered what everyone loves about icmeler and why they keep returning like ourselves.
Personally we love the culture, restaurants and all the bars, atmosphere, scenery, friendly people. More or less everything. Would never think about going anywhere else because we just love the place and cant wait to go back in 9 weeks on friday.
Please share your comments about icmeler and also what do you think are the best bars. Be good to know what people love about icmeler and why they go every year.

restaurants, bars, certain apartments we always stay at
all the old friends that we have known for 8 years now are like our family
when we go to icmeler its like going home
the place where i met my boyfriend

For me it has to be the people first and level service they give, I will also have to say the value for money

First the people, the resturants, bars,the laid back way of life, the scenery, the friends we have met over the years turkish british others. what more can you say everything is great about the place, keep the marmaris and aya nappa,s and malagufs, leave it as you find it so we can all enjoy it

The people. The weather. The way nothing is too much trouble. The scenery. The food. The EFES ..The way you can meet a person once and they will remember you years later. The culture.

Everything to be fair!

....But one thing i do love, is the way the men hug & kiss and link arms (etc) as friends. Men in this country would cound that as being "too gay"

I love the people, the weather, the atmosphere, the food, the jewellery....in fact there really isn't anything I don't like. We have had 15 or 16 visits now - try to go twice a year for 5 or 6 weeks in total.
We are arriving on Tuesday 11th May for 18 days - providing this silly volcano behaves itself !!!!
Can't wait to get there....yippeeeeeeee

we love everything about Icmeler, never set foot in Marmaris yet and been going twice a year for a long time.
Hope you get off on the 11th as it will be fair for us on the 15th, will try to blow the ash cloud away towards Iceland again lol

Haha Last year I got a nasty bite on my hand so went looking for a chemist, passing the Scotia bar and ICR office I seen the driver who done our transfer, I showed him the bite and asked him to point me in the direction of the chemist, he pointed over the square and then firmly linked arms with me and marched me over roads. What the hell I thought
I know I gave him a tip but it wasn't that much. . He helped in the chemist and then when we got back outside he firmly linked arms with me again and walked me back to the office. I did feel uneasy at the time but after reading your comment Cassia I now understand

couldn't agree more we have been going to turkey for 11 years mainly Icmeler but also other places the only place we have not liked was Alanya last year, it mainly caters for europeans not many brits there, we only found one restaurant where they spoke to us and were friendly we have never encountered bad manners anywhere else in turkey like we did last year just glad it wasn't our first visit, happily that was Icmeler 11years ago and like everyone else we fell in love with everything Icmeler is unique they do genuinely care what you think and will always help if they can we always feel so relaxed as soon as we arrive cannot wait until 30th aug to see all the familiar faces

just love everything its so lovely the people the food just coming their to relax its heaven

yeah alanya caters much more for the germans and russians than the british
and its much more of a turkish city
the turks arent as friendly down there because they arent used to the tourists being friendly
well thats what they always tell us anyway

Great weather relaxation afew bottles of effes and watching the toon with my mate Tommy in his restaurant in the old village kenny

I agre with what everyone else say`s about Icmeler,we to went to Alanya last year it`s Turkey but not as we know it. I was in a bar with a bloke and is son who were staying in the same hotel as us watching the football,as well as us there were about 15 other people all watching the match when 3 norwegian teenagers came in sat at the bar and said something to the barman,the next thing you know he`s changed the game and said they want to watch this game for a while.He then probably had the biggest rush of the day whe we all stood as one threw our money on the tables and all walked out,he came rushing out and asked what was wrong(did he really need telling).Further down the road was the sister resturant a one of the waiters who we were friendly with asked why we were not at the other place watching the match,we told of our treatment at the other bar and he went inside to bring out the owner who when he heard what happened he shrugged his shoulders,so he got told he could stuff his resturant as well.It`s things like this that make you apprieciate Icmeler more especially when your not there
guess where I`ll this August and not Alanya

I just love the feeling of 'being home'. Its like you have never been away when you return. I also feel much safer in Icmeler than I do anywhere in the UK.
