I am staying at the Kapmar from 4th - 18th June and have contacted them about air conditioning and they have said the charge would be £4 per night which is £56 in total. Is it just me who thinks this is a bit extreme? and do you think i wll need air conditioning in June as I have never been before at this timeof the year.
Thanks

A wall mounted Air Con unit is typically 4 Kilowatts, in the UK this would cost you approximately 41p an hour to run if on full power. If you spend 9 hours a day/night in your apartment and have it switched on all the time your are looking at £3.60 a day so I think the charge is reasonable.
June could be in the mid to high 30's so you may need it, I suggest go without the first few days and then see how you get on.

We've been in
Icmeler in June the past two years, and both times it has been very, very hot indeed - even at night. I know that, personally, without air conditioning, I would have found the heat unbearable. It was lovely to be able to come back to our room, switch on the air con and have that blast of cold air to cool us down. As Dave has suggested, why not see how you get on for the first day or two - then if you feel you can't do without it, you can always get the air con.

I'd say that was about right. We're paying £3 a day for aircon but they've included it in the price of the room.
We always go in June and i would say you will definately need it.

Get it sorted - you will need it in June. As someone said try it without on the first night but we have been in June and the Temperature does not dip much in the night.

some of the apartments and hotels use a card system or have a bit on the back of the keys that you put in the wall to activate the electricity
when you take the key out of the wall there is no air con or electricity
its just to save the
hotel or apartment money cause it wouldnt be fair if we all went out and left our lights and air con on all the time
but if you put the air con on a low setting the rooms will cool down in a couple of minutes

If you wish to leave it on then any card the same sort of size, Blood Donor etc etc do fine.

Depends on the type of device, the apartments we stay in use a fob that is slightly larger that a credit card but about 5mm thick, the switch is activated by a magnet in the fob.

yeah think the apartments that we normally stay at is activated with a magnet inside the bit on the end of the key too
unfortuntely i dont think a credit card would work
worth a try though

I'm staying at the Kapmar from the 9th June for 2 weeks and I was told £4 a night too. The apartment I used to stay in was £25 a week (£50 for 2 obv hehe) so its not really that much of a different.
Like others have said give it a night or two and see how you feel. Last time I was there in june, I was grateful for the a/c.

I'd say see how you are the first day/night without it, and if its alright maybe think about just going into town and buying a big fan for the bedroom

yeah good idea
but you will find that the fans are not quite the same as air con
the fans just blow the hot air round and round and dont get much cool air through

I notice that prices are being quoted in pounds sterling. Is that just an equivalent to the YTL price or do they expect to be paid in £?

Either will be fine im sure Hector
normally the hotels and apartments dont mind which currency you pay in
they arent fussy but watch cause they might give you a low exchange rate if changing from £ to TL or vice versa

I would test it before you unpack, ive stayed in many rooms where it either doesnt get cold or it sounds like a boeing 747 engine.

Thank you for all your replies i think i will see how it goes, ive never been in June so dont know what to expect the temp to get up to. I usually go end of august and have always stayed at hotels where the air con has been included in the price (luckily) thats why i thought it was a bit pricey. Roll on 31 days!!!!
