Okey-doke Karaoke...?

Postby DavyBee » 26 Apr 2010 20:16

Can anyone reccomend a decent karaoke place? When I was last in Icmeler (many years ago) there was a fab one on the beach between the Marbas hotel and the corner where Kayabal Caddassi meets the beach. It was a big place and the karaoke was managed by a kind of 'Chubby Brown' type geezer (without the swearing). I don't know whether that will still be operating, but I would think there must be one or two around. It might be a big ask, but it would be even better if there was something there to keep a four year old happy too... :D

I would definitely recomment the Deniz Kapisi which is down on the beach near the golmar beach hotel which is maybe the place you are talking about. Because it's on the beach the music doesn't have to go off at midnight, they don't turn it off until about 2/3am! Great place for kareoke!!

The Canary bar last year (old Korsan) on the Canal is a Karaoke bar, although don't know if it still will be this season

My Daughters a huge karaoke fan and we found Deniz kapisi to be the best place by far for this as alot of the other places that offered it didn't always start until very late and then when it did it was really dragged out by the compare singing every other song (not always good).
The pa system at Deniz Kapisi was a much better quality as well ,enjoy your holiday :D

Thanks Guys.
I think you are right Dannii. The Deniz Kapisi sounds like the place I remember from all those years ago. There was certainly only one on that stretch. I'm really pleased it's still operating. I look forward to rattlingf off a couple of numbers in the second half of June. If you hear 'Mack The Knife' or (I'm wicked and I'm) 'Lazy' , it could well be The Davstar!!!
