Stuff for him to do, electrical adaptors and sleeps.

Postby DavyBee » 26 Apr 2010 13:29

Hello All.
My son will be four just before we go. I wondered if anybody could tell me if there is a playground (swings/slide etc) in the area. I seem to remember passing one some years ago, but cannot be sure if my memory is playing tricks. I'm just looking for stuff other than the pool to keep him occupied.

Also, will I need a special transformer to use a DVD player/laptop? (I don't mean the plug/socket adapter - I have those)

42 sleeps to go... :)

From memory, there are several little park areas dotted around icmeler. I'm sure wherever you're staying you will find a little playground area where your youngster will be amused. Sorry, can't help with the DVD question but I'm sure somebody else will sort that one out for you soon.

Hi DavyBee,
Yes there are a couple of play parks that i know of. One is at the end of the road near to where the small water park was(you pass it the on road before the dolmus turns at tansas coming into icmeler) and the other is in the old village near to ince apart.can't remember if there was swings though.
In marmaris up the road from antique palace is a great little place.I went with my brother and his family last year and my neice had a fab time. There is trampolines etc and even a bar for you to have a drink whilst they enjoy themselves. Only costs a few lira for use of trampoline.Don't know if they are open during the day due to heat. :D

You wont need any special transformers for your dvd player as i took mine last year and only took the charger to recharge the battery. as to your laptop i can't say as i haven't got one yet.

Hope this helps.

Hi there,

Laptops work fine you just need the normal electrical adaptor for the plug.

Loads of little parks all over the area. The Locals use them when the sun is setting at the end of the day.
Dont use them during the day as the hot metal and plastic can give the wee kids a burn.

Aww, thanks everybody. He doesn't have any other kids to play with - his brother is 26! So that means me and his mum have to keep him amused as much as poss. As you can imagine, that can be a challenge, but he loves the slide and stuff in the playground. We are staying at the Club Petunya Apartments so hopefully we will be near enough to one park or another.

Thanks for the electrical info too. Laptops/portable DVD players didn't exist last time I went to Icmeler! :) To all who are going this year - have a fabulous time!

Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

That made me laugh Davybee my son is 5 and has 2 sisters one aged 8 and one aged 26 :D :D :D I worried about the kids being entertained but every bar and restaurant treat kids totally differently to our English restaurants! :D Turkish people love children and treat them very kindly and are very considerate. Your little one will be treat very well both at your apartments and many restaurants throughout Icmeler. Youe will be very close to Tommy's bar/restaurant which I can highly recommend :D :D :D
