Distance between Icmeler and Bodrum

Postby sanjo » 20 Apr 2010 20:31

Hi, just wondered if someone could tell me the distance between Icmeler and Bodrum?

Our son is going on holiday to Bodrum in the second week of our holiday in Icmeler and was wondering if he could come pay us a visit?

How would he get to Icmeler and how long would it take him?

thanks for your help.

i think you could do it in less than 3 hours
as we did izmir to dalaman in 4
i suppose it depends what the roads are like though
cause i know the bit when you just come out of marmaris is really steep

bodrum is an easy 2.5 /3hour drive from icmeler . it is a really easy straightforward drive you can get a coach from marmaris for around 20 lire per person and theese depart around every half an hour although the journey may take a little longer.I think icmeler on line are also running trips to bodrum

There is a Marmaris - Bodrum Hydrofoil that takes less than 90 minutes, Just google "ferry marmaris to bodrum"

It departs Bodrum 08:00am and the return is 18:00 from marmaris (It says there is a 10Km minibus ride from Marmaris to pick up the ferry at another location.)

its just the other side of the mountain from icmeler, there is a dolmus or you can get a taxi boat, much more relaxing than Bodrum! only 15 lira on water taxi, about 20 minutes

i would say that the taxi boat is better as the road is a bit steep and there is some bad bends on it
boat is very relaxing
dont know how much it cost cause the last time we did it was a number of years ago now
hope this helps

Mind you, some people prefer the dolmus because you do get stunning views, despite (or even because of) the steep, hilly, bendy roads! Maybe they could take the water taxi there and get the dolmus back - or vice versa?

True, or if you're prone to travel sickness...not a good idea.
