Jeep safari suitable for kids

Postby linzipinz » 19 Apr 2010 12:35

Hi all,

I was just wondering after reading many great reviews about the jeep safari if it is suitable for kids. i will be going with my partner and kids aged 4 and 2. i know my 4yr old son will love it, if it involves water pistols but just wondering if it would be ok for the 2 year old.

thanks

Hi linzipinz. Personally, I would say no, it is not suitable for 2 and 4 year olds. They go over some very bumpy ground, and if the driver is anything like the one we had when we went, they go very fast to. They also visit a waterfall, where I would say is far to risky for children so young. For an 8 or 9 year old, it would be fine...sorry, but this is just my opinion :(

I totally agree with Starchild01. Definitely not suitable for 2 and 4 year olds. (although most of the adults behave like kids on this trip  )

Yep...I agree John as I was one of those big kids the other year. What a brilliant day...spent the whole day soaking wet and laughing

I definately would not take children so young! I know that a couple of years ago 2 people died on a jeep trip, not in the Icemeler area but thats not the point. The last time we went a couple of years ago I was really scared let alone kids.
Obviously, your choice, but please be careful.

Another one who wouldn't take children that young either. I'd say that from about the age 10 up would be ok but not younger than that.
As others have said, the terrain is very bumpy, and even i find it a bit scary at times. You'd be constantly worrying about them all the time, and it's a long day in the sun with little or no sun shade.

Most of the boat trips. We have been taking our daughter since she was 3 years old and she loves them. Her holiday is not complete if she hasn't had at least 2 boat trips.

The boat trips are a must.
We tend to go to Turkey in a big group so we always hire a boat for the day just for our family. My little cousin has been coming with us since he was a baby and this year we will have my almost 12 month old cousin with us too on the boat trip.
