We are due to fly on 7th. May and I really think that, if the airspace around Northern Europe is still shut-down then, there will be far more at stake than just our holiday.

UK Airspace restrictions will remain in place until 01.00am Tuesday 20th April so hopefully we will have a clearer picture tomorrow.

Best of luck to everyone that is affected

There waiting on the results of some test flights that went up over the weekend. Although we should remember, safety is paramount here.

Better to be down here wishing you were up there than up there wishing you were down here.

It'll be lifted within few days, you'll get there don't worry :D

My son who is serving on HMS Ocean phoned me an hour ago saying his ship and two other royal navy ships are sailing to Spain and France to pick up stranded tourist.

His ship was only out at sea for sea trials but have now been ordered by the goverment to sail today.

Yes I heard this on the news today - I bet that will be a thrilling experience for some of the tourists to get a trip on a Naval Ship - wouldn't have minded that myself. All the nice girls, love a Sailor

I'm no expert, but I'd be willing to bet you'll be ok and your holiday will go ahead.
I remember from school (And this has just been backed up on Sky news in a brief comment) that spring through to autumn, the fronts over the UK normally would push this sort of thing north instead of over us. Surely then only a matter of time before the normal summerish weather comes in and pushes it all away.

The weathermen are thinking by next weekend there may be a change of wind direction. Also the actual experts are saying that it won't be instant to get flights back to normal, but will take a week perhaps. Hopefully not months then.

Here's hoping anyway
