our holiday cancelled

Postby theglobetroter » 16 Apr 2010 16:33

We were supposed to fly out of Glasgow tonight for a 2 week holiday to icmeler, dissapointed but hey ho what can
you do? better safe than sorry just have to wait for conformation that it has been cancelled rather than delayed as it
currently showing and then we can re book again hopefully in the coming week or the week after. :(

It is really weird, perfect blue skies during the day, superb sunsets and a beautiful starlit sky tonight with an almost new moon. Cars locally are covered in a fine dust but this is a hangover from the amount of salt used on the roads during the winter and the dry weather.

In our isolation, we are heavily reliant on airborne medivacs and I believe that even these have been grounded. My sympathies go out to those who have to undergo a road transfer to Glasgow by conventional 3 + hours road transfer to Glasgow by ambulance and slightly less so to those stuck in airports throughout the UK.

Sorry to hear your holiday is cancelled, but hopefully you can get something else booked up to go soon.

I am keeping my fingers crossed as we are heading to Salou on April 26th for a week, all being well. This could cause dreadful delays, once it is eventually all opened up.

My fingers are crossed as well. 9 of us are going out on various flights in a couple of weeks.First 2 fly from Doncaster on the 1st May, 2 from East Midlands on the 2nd May, 2 from Doncaster on the morning of the 3rd May and 3 from Doncaster on the 3rd May teatime.
What does everyone reckon the chances are of us all getting there and on time!!!! LOL!!!!

Sorry to hear about everyone that is being affected by the flight cancelations. I have everything crossed that my holiday which is in 7 weeks time will still be ok.

I'm a bit of a jinx when it comes to holidays, my last 3 have all had something go wrong with them, we've either been robbed, or the travel company has gone bust, i was hoping that this one would be a nice straight forward one.
