Change of Hotel

Hi Everyone,

As you may have seen from my previous thread i was booked into the elif for 2 weeks in June, have called the travel company (not ICR unfortunatley) and they STILL dont seem to know what is going on and that the elif is no more.....i was just wondering if any of you were booked for the elif and if you have had accomdation change yet? or if anyone knows/can hazzard a guess at where we might be moved to???

I too am booked into the Elif in August. I've been in touch with my travel agent four times since January regarding this and it was only a week ago that they confirmed the Elif is no more. They have said they will offer us 'like for like' accommodation but so far we've had nothing from them. I'm not aware of any other 2* hotels on the beach, so it won't be like for like as far as I'm concerned!

might be an allocated on arrival type of things so you might not know where you're staying until you get there

Wouldn't they have to tell you what the alternative is so you have the option to cancel with a full refund if your not happy with it?? Surely they can't leave it until arrival

My travel agent has said we will be offered alternative accommodation and can cancel if we're not happy with the choices. But I'm still waiting to hear from them. We booked last September as we like to know where we're going - allocation on arrival is definitely not an option!

we are in the same boat as all of you,,i have contacted my hotel room provider 3 times now [ today was the 3rd time ] told them i booked the elif BECAUSE it was close to the beach,,they STILL dont seem to know [ OR CARE ] that the elif is no more..we are in limbo [ untill they get there fingers out ] we DONT want to be stuck in a hotel in the outskirts of icmeler,,as i have problems with mobility,,i would rather have a refund than be allocated on arrival..

allocation on arrival is not going to be an option for us either,i have booked a hotel for a reason and i do not want to be stuck at the back of the old village,although it is lovely there we like to be close to beach and the town. i have rang again today after been told on monday we would hear by wed this week,and i was told that because of volcanic erruptions they are unable to help at the momment.....considering we were meant to hear by wed and the volcanic erruptions didnt happen until yesterday i dont know how they have the chhek to blame that!!
if any of you booked into the elif do happen to get told where you are been moved to please let me know!!

I would just like to make a point to you all here we at ICR Travel that have created this forum for you all to chat and stay in touch are TRAVEL AGENTS.

We are based in Icmeler, it was us that told you of the change, it is us that keep getting phone calls from all the idiotic
travel companies that have booked you in asking do we know what is going o.

So why don't you let us sort your accommodation and transfers out and we promise that we will look after you

Straight talking no nonsense tell it like it is from ICR, ... Thats why I would use ICR in the future.

If the alternative accomodation we are offered isnt sutiable will we be able to cancel just the accomodation and keep the flight? and believe me next time i will be booking through ICR!!

If you decide to cancel your existing booking with your agency, contact ICR asap because availability at both places mentioned above are extremely low for certain periods.

just read on another forum about people being offered the Miray as an alternative to the Elif..........don't know if thats good or not
