First time in Icmeler for us

Postby theglobetroter » 11 Apr 2010 07:25

Hi all just got a last minute deal to icmeler leaving Glasgow fri 16th for 2wks ,we are staying at the Selen 2 Hotel
i would be greatfull if anyone could answer these couple of questions 1) we arrive Dalaman airport at 00.30 what
is the transfer time to resort likely to be? 2) how good or bad is the said hotel ? and finally what kind of weather
can we expect over the 2 wks we are there.Been to alanya 2 years ago and had a great time although found the
heat some days a bit unbearable from what i have seen and read already about icmeler we are realy looking forward to coming over and having just as great a time if not better.

Kind regards
Charlie

Charlie if its April you are going then up to now the weather has been great but at the moment its raining.

Weather will be hit and miss I suppose but probably more hit than miss.

Will take you about 2- 2.5 hours to get there depending on whether you stop for a break or not.

hi,

We stayed at the hotel 3 summers ago it is very good and close to the centre and beach :D we found the rooms clean and of ample size, the pool is good and has a water slide for extra fun (as i'm still a big kid). the weather will be more hit than miss.

i am sure you will have a great time. most summers we have one comfort stop on the transfer think it takes us about 90 mins to get to icmeler, when we stayed at this hotel think we were one of the first drops. :D :D

The Selen 2 is not beachfront but near the centre.....beach not too far away. Good position in a quieter side street. The transfer time by taxi is approx. 1 hr 15 mins - but thats with no stops..... The coach transfer time varies depending on how many hotels/apts to drop off at and whether they have a comfort stop or not. We have been to Icmeler about 14 times now - usually twice a year for 5 weeks in total - we love it.
We have never stayed at the Selen 2 but have visited it to check it out. I am a disabled holidaymaker and always need to check out accessability to hotels..... the Selen 2 has steps which my scooter cannot manage...lol. The hotel has got a good write up though on the various sites and we know people who spend weeks there at a time.
We are going on 10th May for 3 weeks and are staying in the Navy hotel..... great hotel for the money....
There are a number of really good hotels in Icmeler - all with different prices....
Hope you enjoy your visit - but I'm sure you will....

im in izmir right now which is normally slightly colder than icmeler cause its further north and today at 15:00 it was 34 degrees
nice temperature although it still gets quite cold at nights
the heat in icmeler is different to the heat in alanya
there is more of a breeze in icmeler and its not as humid
