just a few things that help me get from one visit to the next..thank god for the web cam

The first thing which springs to me for me is that first glimpse of the bay you get as you come down the hill from Marmaris - it never fails to make me smile and make my heart beat a little bit faster when I get my first glimpse of Icmeler!

its the feeling of coming home

Sitting on hotel balcony early morning,looking across the bay towards Marmaris, amazed at how still the sea is that time of the morning, then looking left to see the sun creeping up over the mountains.

I'm like you blondie, when I glimpse the bay from the top, my heart skips a beat and I know I'm going to have a lovely holiday!

the first night out, the smell of bbq meat cooking and music from the bars, the warm breeze....your home!

Seeing your first bottle of efes.

When the transfer drops you off at your hotel / apartments, and you know the first of many efes is minutes away.

same with us, when we first see the bay coming over hill , it is like coming home

Other than the first glimps of Icmeler as you come down the hill, booking into the hotel at 6.00am, and then walking down to the jetty and sitting there with my hubby waiting for the sun to come up between the mountains. Sheer heaven

The approach to the last bend before Marmais comes into view, our excitement peaks, once around the bend and we can finally see Marmaris and the bay, we know we will soon be in Icmeler.

The welcome from the apartment staff as we have been going there for many years, the first large ice cold Efes, the fact we have arrived and know we will have a fantastic holiday again.

everything about the place you know you are going to have a great time lovely food good trips and have a laugh with the waiters just cant wait to get back

the first shower.on the first night,the getting ready to go out,then telling the Mrs [i,ll see you in the bar etc,] the first drink,then the meeting of all the people you know ,and loved over the years,it does,nt get any better than that,then as the sun and the warmth of icmeler kicks in, the aches and pains ,seem to ease,and the everday hum drum british living gets shelved for 14 days. BILL

i agree; definitely getting showered and ready for your first night out. stepping out onto the street and hearing all the hustle and bustle and smelling all the lovely smells wafting about! sitting down and eating your first meal in your favourite bar with a nice cold efes

Waking up in the morning to another nice sunny day.

Quite simply I don't stop smiling from the moment I land to the moment I leave resort to go home.....

As well as ALL the above two things thing that always make me smile are listening to the sunshine, ice cream, bling bling, I am here, whoooo hoooo on the beach

And going from one extreme to the other walking around the back roads late afternoon, all peaceful and calm, pavements dappled in shade, a whisper of a breeze and hearing the call to prayer.... lovely

Bill has got it spot on. Cases on the bed, me getting out of the shower, "see you in a minute love, I'll just be at the bar. I'll get them in" Then getting greeted by he hotel barman is if you were his best man & long lost brother rolled into one. Trying my best to order in Turkish and having a good laugh with the barman.
