Restaurants - The Not So Good

Postby Erik The Viking » 01 Apr 2010 19:56

I have seen a few reports on various restaurants where people have been given inflated bills or substandard food. I Have not had many bad meals but due to vaying reasons i would never return to Lighthouse, Villa Kontes, Friar Tucks or Taj Mahal

Anyone else had a bad experience here or anywhere else?

The Kerem is one we wont be returning to and the La Trattoria wasnt that good when we went last October.
We thought we were ordering Chicken is garlic sauce but it was cheese sauce!
I didnt tell my hubby as he hates cheese but as the Turkish cheese doesnt taste very strong I didnt tell him until we finished the meal!
His reply was he thought it tasted funny.

We would not go to the Golden Moon again, the service was awful to start with, then i found a large piece of glass in my food th manager was not very apologetic when we were due to pay the bill we had to wait 20 minutes for the bill and a further 15 minutes to pay it, they did not even say come again when we left, in fact they ignored us

I dont think this is a fair thread, not everyone will have a bad meal at these places, and your taking business away from people who need it desperately for the families and to feed there children.

We all see things differently and have different tastes and expectations from places.

It wasnt meant to put an early end to someones season, equally some of us work hard to give our families a holiday once a year, and its not fair to be ripped off. Those that provide the service and quality get the rewards - surely thats worldwide common sense?

I wasnt looking to gang up on any restaurant, i have seen some messages from people who love the lighthouse and the Taj Mahal - but we didnt.

it was just to gauge peoples experiences, then people can make their own mind up

I understand where you coming from Erik, I really do but unfortunately, the internet has such power to damage business over there, we really can't allow this thread.

I do apologise, I will try and think of a way round it if I can :D
