Special birthday treat???

Postby tipsy » 30 Mar 2010 14:30

Its my special ladys birthday whilst we are in icmeler, and would love to be able to get her a manicure or pedicure or both maybe. Is there anywhere that does this? Or maybe a spa treatment.
Would love to spoil her, then on for a special meal in the evening.
We both work so hard all year, and she so deserves spoiling, and just wanna do it good style!
Thinking maybe a boat trip on that day too.... mind you, its our anniversary the day before, so it depends on how many falling- over-water-stuff we have!

You will be spoiled for choices in regards to manicures and peducures, most of the barber shops also have ladies there doing all sorts of beauty treatments.

Hope she has a lovely day.

Well was definatley going to do the turkish bath thing at the begining of the hols.
Her birthday is sort of 3/4 way through, but glad to hear there'll be no probs getting her a manicure and pedicure, she luuurrvs them!
Me thinks my biggest problem is, finding a special restaurant for her, cos they all seem just as good as each other.
We do like a more romantic setting though, if anyone has any ideas.

My suggestion for something that little more special and romantic would be the Love Boat. A little more expensive, but well worth a visit.

I would recommend the Love Boat for a romantic meal a little more expensive but well worth it.

Where are you staying? Maybe someone can recommend a good pedicure manicure near to where you are. I use the one along the canal before you get to the Majestic, a brilliant hairdresser there to run by husband and wife.

We're staying in the Bahar apartments up in the village I think.
I dont mind where it is atall, want to see as much of icmeler as possible.
The Love boat looks a lovely restaurant and think we will trying that one out, but is there anything a little bit smaller? Do you know what I mean, has to be traditional turkish food, preferably selling fresh fish, but a smaller, more intimate setting.

Really, dont mean to come across as fussy, cos that we aint, its just I know what she likes, and would like to make the already perfect setting of our holiday even more perfect.

And after that lovely meal, we'll be rockin and rollin', karaoke'n, and having a damn good time like everyone else....ooo wanna go now!!!

What about the Kerem along the canal, I've not eaten there so don't know what the menu is like or there is the Senam (I think thats what its called) turn right at the travellers rest and its on the left after the Moonlight Rest. They are both a smaller restauraunt and are both traditional turkish setting.

The Kerem is lovely - great ambience, fabulous hosts in the form of Layla and her family and the food is excellent. It's not the cheapest, no, but for a special meal, I'd definitely recommend it. You have to save some room for Layla's cheesecake, though, which is to die for! They do a lovely mezes platter which is really nice - even if you just want something lighter during the day. The food is authentically Turkish and really, really nice.

I choose the Kerem in October for my birthday despite staying at the Devamli.
We had lovely meals here on previous visits so invited friends who have an apartment in Marmaris to come along.
Lalya brought 4 cheese filo rolls to our table and insisted we try them. Both my husband and his friend dont like cheese and told her so but she insisted we try them.My friend and I told the men we would just eat them.
She made out it was complimentary so you can imagine the shock when 14tL each was added to our bill at the end!
Not wanting to make a scene because she is so lovely we just paid the extra 56tl and left!
To give her the benefit of the doubt she didnt present us with the bill as another member of staff did.
I dont think I will be able persuade my hubby to go back this year.

We tried the Appolon rest. up the main drag by the Munamar lovely fresh fish, + varied menu, and nice friendly staff, secluded seating, ideal for a couples meal, ate there about 5 times last year and couldn,t complain about anything.

Try Cafe Rose, traditional turkish, quiet with low level background music, dining in a garden with soft lighting and the main thing it's good value for money.

Tipsy, i haven,t got a website for them we left in a rush last year and forgot to get it . was told they were rebuilding over the winter(that was before we heard of all the demolitions) so i assume it was only pre arranged upgrade, dont think you,ll have a problem finding somewhere nice there are so many to choose from.Rog.

we went to the kerem for a meal and lalya did the same thing to us with the cheese filo rolls i didnt want one, but she insisted my husband did and then billed us at the end, we wont be going back there either. I think when you order a meal what you want you shouldnt be pushed into having food you dont want.

Guess what Sandy and Jay trip, the exact same thing happened to us last year at guess where? yep the Kerem, we also didnt want to make a fuss, so just paid the extra, so hopefully when people read this on here, they will be on their guard when the cheese rolls come round   thought the food was nice but a bit overpriced, even before the added the cheese rolls on  wouldnt go back there out of principle now though, have never been ripped off before in Turkey and have been many times

I cant believe so many people were "persuaded" to have the cheese filos at the Kerem.
Although it was my birthday we werent particularly hungry and only had small Lamb casseroles, cheese cake and Efes or Efes shandy and the bill came to 170TL!
We felt awful as our friends have an apartment in Marmaris and are familiar with lovely the restaurants around the Marina, but we asked them to come to the Kerem.
We should have eaten at the Loveboat and got our residents discount!
