Try the topkapi kebab (Spelling), it's fantastic however if you don't like cheese give it a miss. Will be going back this year for another one.

just back and the welcome and goodnight you recieve from both hakan and levent is second to none. ate 3 times in the sizzler during our 10 day stay and had the set meals on each occasion only the indian set meal was slightly dissapointing, my wife stating her korma was not the best she had tasted. the turkish and chinese both being excellent, the amount of food you get for £14.95 per person is in my opinion very good value. along with the icr discount for your drinks and the service you recieve from hakan , levent and staff was the main reason we retuned for 3 evenings. we had breakfast twice for only the cost of our cofee and orange juice and must say the poached eggs were perfect. the evening we had the turkish set menu my wife asked if she could have one of her favorite dishes instead which was not included in the set menu and more expensive and levent insisted it would not be a problem and at no extra cost, nice touch from a genuinely nice guy, which is why i will comply with his request to bring him a bottle of jack daniels from duty free which he insists he will pay for when we return in september.

roll on september. :)

That's what I thought. People usually take home spices from Turkey, not take them in!

Shuggy bear / Diamond,
This question was asked last year, basically the quality and cost of english sourced spices is better and cheaper than turkish, so to keep the quality of food the same, you either pay more for the spices, or ask you to bring them and pay you. Only good ingredients make good food. That is why we will be returning to the Sizzler this year.

I'm looking forward to visiting the Tandoori Sizzler now ive read the reviews.
I have to add that having worked my backside off all year, as does my wife, the last thing i am concerned about is the prices of food too much. Not to the point of being totally ripped off though i might add.
But i won't grumble over a price of a meal which i think has been exceptional.
If every single person on this thread had slated the Tandoori Sizzler for its price then clearly id avoid it.
I know quality service is virtually a given in Turkey, but a freshly prepared, delicious curry on top of great service is worth paying for.
But we are all different, and we all like different things, and have different ideas on what we want to pay, so no-one can ever be wrong.
Looking forward to September 17th.

I'll be giving it a try - Although I like to eat the 'local' food, I do enjoy a good hot curry (No less than a Vindaloo lol).

Luckily we aren't on a tight budget, I run a part-time mobile disco business as well as my day job (in IT) and that gives me at least £600 extra every month - it's even paid for the holiday itself. So I'll be taking at least £2,000 spending money for 10 days between 3 of us so will give the Sizzler a try for definite. :)

I will post a genuine & comprehensive review upon my return! Only 20 sleeps now

If anybody fancies Chinese try the Beef in Black Bean Sauce. It is the best I have ever had. It beats any that I have had in any Chinese establishment in the UK.

We went about 10 days ago and had yet another great meal, I wanted Topkapi kebab but it was not on the menu this year. I don't know what it was called but Levent recommended it and many others I am so glad I chose this meal also we were given extra meze dishes becaus I told him I had been looking forward to it since last september. So yet again excellent friendly service

TANDOORI SIZZLER - EXCELLENT RESTAURANT

Postby CARYL » 07 Jul 2012 09:19

Thought I would start a new thread on this restaurant as the other one seemed to go on so long with so much negativity.......I got fed up of reading it. :-(
Due to such good reviews on the forum about this Restaurant last year.....I put it on my list and decided to give it a go.

It was my first time to Icmeler, but the people I was with ,had been going there for years.....but they had not been to this restaurant before.
We were all very impressed by the service, quality, quantiy & prices of the food, the very warm, genuine welcome from both Hakan and Levant...and the waiters too.....we went back for another evening.

5 of us in the group, all had different food on each occasion and we could NOT find fault at all.
We would have gone back for yet another evening but it we did not have any time left.

I went back to Icmeler again in June this year......Tandoori Sizzler was top of my list...
I was not dissapointed at all..
Undecided what to choose from the menu and wanting something typically turkish, Levant suggested a mix of kebab types of meats, all different......it was a bit of something from a few differnt dishes....not on the menu....but it was WONDERFUL !!!

Complimentary Meze - too much to finish - and complimentary coffee / apple tea and FROZEN ICE CREAM.....Which is WONDERFUL......MUST BE TRIED.
The service and attention was supurb.
Free taxi service to and from your hotel by request.

Prices........you get what you pay for, I didn't notice much difference in the price from last year....I would say that the prices are a little bit more than some other places.....but given the the quality and service that you receive it is well worth paying that little bit extra.
We went there twice, and took friends with us the second time....they will definitely be going back when they return to Icmeler.
Both last year and this year, I recommended this restaurant to other guests where I was staying....they were so impressed, they went back more than once..... (that has got to be worth a FREE glass of Rose wine next time I vist) ???..lol
We also had the free breakfast that was on offer in June.....plenty of choice, just for the cost of a drink....excellent.
This restaurant will always be top of my list....for quality and service....which I am more than happy to pay a little bit extra for.

My only negative comment would be the paper napkins.......I feel they let the restaurant down, you would expect to find these in a cheap cafe not a restaurant of this standard.....I did suggest they change these..... ???

Good luck for the rest of the season, wish I was coming back again this year....but I will be back next year. xxx

Lucky for you that you are going back again this year...

I am POSITIVE that you will NOT be disappointed with this restaurant.......tell them that CARYL ''S post impressed you so much.... :D ...I may get a glass of Rose Wine on the house next year.... :D :D

Personally, any restaurant that I go to, if I am not happy with something, I would tell them...instead of paying up and keeping quiet....how can anyone rectify something if they dont know its a problem ??

You MUST try the deep fried Ice Cream....Ohhhhhhhhhhh, can NOT find words to describe how delicious this is...and I dont really have a sweet tooth...but could have ate a bucket of this.

What impressed me was that the owners, Hakan and Levant remembered me from last year....and Levant (think that is the taller, slim one with brown hair).....he even remembered where we sat and what my brother in law's had to eat !!!!!!...and some of the waiters who were there last year, remembered me too....

Very impressed indeed considering they have THOUSANDS of customers through the summer...

Mind you, it has been said about me....once met, NEVER forgotten.... :D :D
