i think we will be lucky to get 2 lira to the pound

Hmmmm, just my thoughts - I think one reason the pound has taken a battering recently, is because the opinion polls are predicting a hung parliament.
One thing the markets do not like, is uncertainty.
I think there's a good chance, that once May 7th (Most likely date of the election) is out of the way, as long as SOMEONE wins, then the pound could pick up.

Not wanting to be party political on this - totally impartial as I think they are all shysters - but I think it will pick up faster if the tories win, as they have promised faster cuts, and the market will like this. If Labour win though - that will mean business as usual - again - the market will stabilise as the threat of no-one in charge has gone.
We'll all have to see

This, every time i check the rate it seems to be getting lower & lower This time last year it was 2.60, my mum exchanged half of her money early because the rate was unusually good.

If im sitll in time for my prediction .. id say 2.22 ... its really dropping over here i remember the days we could get 2.80 in glasgow :O x

Just got back, and got 2.30 in Wonder(boys) bar, and it was rising by about0.05 every couple of days, even the exchanges in Marmaris were 2.28.

I think entries for new predictions should now be closed as it's getting close to the final date, compared to those who predicted months ago any new entries will have an advantage due to knowing the current political agenda and hints from the government of what is to come in the budget which will effect the £

unfortunately the pound against the lira doesnt seem to be increasing that much

1 USD = 1.5803 YTL
1 Euro = 1.9156 YTL

Thats according to ICR main page, which is usually as accurate as anywhere, its the international bank exchange rate, so it might be a tiny bit less in resort.
