If it keeps going as it is, I reckon 2.9 or even 3 could be a reality very soon - not sure if the current issues Turkey is having would have anything to do with it climbing.
JT - did you get my email by the way?

According to BBC news this morning a lot of people are removing their money from investments in Turkey due to troubles and this has caused the Turkish stock market values to go down. This may be having an effect.

I have a little desktop gadget too, it's now on 2.914, so it's still going up.

It's your choice.
£100 @ 2.743 = 274tl
£100 @ 2.86 = 286tl
So an extra 12TL for every £100 or 4% if my maths is correct

Or... 120TL for every £1,000 - thats a good meal out with drinks, I know what I'll be doing! Only 53 sleeps, hope it stays as it is (or continues to climb)

But... we all know it can drop just as easily...

Loving the rise at the moment, some lucky people out there right now will be getting some nice deals.
It's currently the highest since December 2011 - I look forward to the day when I pop into work and see 3+ on my desktop gadget, hope it doesn't drop (too much ) before end July (for me) but appreciate a lot can happen in 7 weeks...
2.943

I've taken the plunge and just bought 1,430TL at a cost of £506.46 (including delivery). I know the rate may rise but as it is so good at the moment I thought I'd take the risk.
Works out at 2.8235 so quite happy with that.
Bought it from ACE FX through this website:

We must have had the same thoughts Justin, I'm currently in Munich but i have been monitoring the rate today and it's been going down so I have jumped in and changed 50% of my planned spends, I know it may still go up again but I do believe that when the new Bank or England governor starts at the beginning of July it could go the other way and as I got the same rate as last year which is the best I have every received I think the gamble is worth it.
4285 lira for £1498.95 giving me a rate of £1=2.8587 Lira
I hope it continues to climb for the rest of my money.

Thats good Justin, I bet its because you changed up over £500. You get a better rate like that.

Travel FX was 2.88 when I checked earlier. If you do buy Lira now shop around for the best rate.
