Daughter not long back and said some places were still doing some very good value set menus - but at the end of the day, it's all about choice. There are so many good places to eat in Icmeler that people can simply vote with their feet. If you like a place and are happy with the price, fair enough. If places are losing out because customers feel they are too expensive, they won't be long in making changes.

the set menu is £15 but the amount of food that you get is unbelievable and very nice, i recomend the turkish meal for one which consisted of 8 meze starters with flat bread followed by main meal then fried ice cream and coffe, worth the money in my view

Ok if you have a big appetite but I wouldnt be able to eat all of that so would be a waste of money.

I will do a full review when I get home, but I've just read through this thread and feel I need to reply :-)

We have been in Icmeler since last monday, it is our first time visiting Icmeler, or Turkey infact so no loyalties or expectations of any restaurants. We visited the Tandoori Sizzler on our 4th night. Beforehand we had eaten at the Harmony bar, our hotel restaurant, and the Hanedan (plus a few others at lunchtime). Since then we've eaten at the wayside, and been on a 2 day trip with meals included. Hanedan and wayside are rated very highly by holiday makers every year - hence us choosing to visit them. As far as price is concerned yes, the Sizzler is on a par with Hanedan and 1ayside. Is it 'too expsensive'? No way! In this day and age you get what you pay for. And as 2 young women travelling alone, if it costs an extra 10 lira each to sit and enjoy your meal without a sleazy waiter insisting he take you to a nightclub later, to be able to stand and look at the menu without being consistently hassled, then that is 20tl well spent. Aside from that though the food is superb, fresh, and portions are fantastic! Service is second to none, the waiters are a credit to Hakan and Levant. They themselves are genuinely great people.

No, the sizzler is not necessarily the cheapest restaurant in Icmeler, but you do not receive substandard food nor a substandard service. No mash potato or frozen veg! Just good quality, scrummy food! I know times are hard, and we're all on a budget, but I personally want to enjoy my holiday and will be visiting the Sizzler a couple more times at least before I leave (probably the wayside and hanedan too). Not only for the food, but the hospitality we've been shown. And as a final thought, where in England can you sit down to a 3 course chinese or indian meal for 2, with a selection of starters, enough drinks to last throughtout the meal and perhaps 1 or 2 after, for £40 ? Of this quality, you can't. More than good enough for me :-)

I have to disagree with your comment about sleazy waiters in Icmeler hounding you to go to nightclubs. OK I am not a young lady however any waiters I see are always polite

All of the meals I had this year were very good and may of these were set meals typically around the 20 lira mark. Portions were substantial and the quality was was a.lways good I agree that £15 is not too expensive for a 3 course meal however by Icmeler standards it is amongst the most expensive. From what I saw people were voting with their feet. Last year the restaurant was packed out this year fairly quiet

Over the last 2 -3 years we've stopped using several restaurants because once they got a reputation for good food, and became busy every night, their prices shot up. This was our first time at the Sizzler, after reading the reviews on here we had to try it, and yes it was a very nice meal, but there are restaurants in Icmeler where we've had meals just as good, if not better, and the prices are lower. If I'm paying over the odds, I expect something really exceptional, and to be honest we didn't feel the difference in price was justified. It may be cheaper than you'd pay at home, but in general it's much cheaper to eat out in Turkey, so the comparison must be made with local restaurants. It's up to each individual how they choose to spend their hard earned cash, and we won't be going back unless they bring their prices down.

We visited The Sizzler only once last year. We went with high expectations after reading the reviews, and regretfully were very disappointed. Food and service we felt, were very average. But hey, each to their own. The world would be very boring if we all liked the same thing! xx

We ate at the Sizzler three times last year and once for a cooked breakfast and enjoyed each meal. We were all looking forward to going back there this year but won't be because of the price increases. We will not be there for the free breakfasts as if we eat at that time it would only be for a cooked breakfast which aren't included. Don't see why we should be paying more for our meals in order to subsidise someone else's free breakfast. There are so many excellent restaurants to choose from so we'll be voting with our feet unless the prices come down.

Shellbell
You don't need to pay extra to not be pestered by ' sleazy waiters in Icmeler hounding you to go to nightclubs'. All you have to do is to tell them that you don't want the attention. Most of the time they will leave you alone, if not, eat at a different restaurant, there are so many restaurants you can go to where you won't be pestered. Because it is your first time in Icmeler you don't realise that you don't need to put up with that attention and you certainly don't need to pay extra to be left alone.

Dragon's right, make it clear you're not interested and they'll leave you alone. There are plenty of women who welcome their attention, so they won't waste time on someone who obviously doesn't. We've been going for years and never had a problem with "sleazy" waiters.

I do, mel - time to draw a line under this and move on. If you like a particular place, fine, if not, well that's fine too. Icmeler has so many great places to eat and it would be pretty boring if we all liked the same things.

I did not see this review before i went to the Tandoori Sizzler and i am very pleased i didnt, i would have been put off which considering this was the best place we ate and we back again for a second meal i think that says it all. the service was above comparison and the food was to die for.
we were made to feel welcome and given extra food and drink whilst there on both visits which made the meal cheaper and extremely good value.

please do not be put off and give this place a try i would be very suprised if you were disappointed. :D :D :D
