I've not updated the following graph for a few months but it gives you an idea, each months snapshot is taken on the 23rd of the month. If I get chance I will update the graph.

What do all you experience icmelerites do?

we have taken a t*****c*** cash card for the last 2 years & just draw out enough for a couple of days at a time. i know we pay for withdrawals but at the same time we dont need to pay money for a safe.

Read on another post that the exchange rate normally drops as August arrives!
Is that right?

Chris

Oh no, is it true? :(

I've been watching the lira and was hoping it would carry on rising before we go on 24th August.
I'm tempted to buy some now if it is likely to drop soon but I don't want to get too much in case it doesn't....confused!!! :?

The Shops /Restaurants/Bars will gladly take them off you in payment....if you have a good amount you will get a good rate for exchange from the Supermarkets if only a frw use my when tipping.

I was considering it too janeypoos, but would rather lose a few lira if it drops and have peace of mind and the added comfort insured travellers cheques in the event they got lost/stolen!!
Losing a few lira to a drop in rate is a gamble I'm happy to take.

Going by daves graph I dont think thats true.

If someone can predict the rate for august could they give me any six random numbers from 1-49 preferably before 7pm

Cheers

I wouldn't bother changing them over here snakebite, you won't get a good rate changing back into sterling and in icmeler, the supermarkets will change them for you at that day's exchange rate for euro/lira
I did it a few years ago and managed to save enough for a couple of beers haha

Hi Chris :)

I won't be taking travellers cheques, was going to take some TL for the first few days and then £ to change after that.

I might buy lira with half the spending money this week and see how it goes, if it goes up again in I'll change the rest.

When are you off?

Jane :)
