Isn't there a forum for the Caribbean then? Why on earth would you be spending your time reading this forum, there doesn't seem any logic in your posting.

adewolves/dragon, when you have spent years going to Icmeler as I did, and yes I would not have a bad word said about the place as you are also defending it, after a while you start looking at prices elsewhere, and the people who are your best friends for two weeks and you realise there is life outside Icmeler.
As for coming on this site dragon, believe it or not I still have a soft spot for the place after spending many a happy holiday there, and also a believer in free speech which was expressed in my post, why be nasty?

Wasn't being nasty, as Dragon said I neither could see the logic in your post.

Icmeler is changing as many holiday destinations do from small sleepy bays to more cosmopolitan resorts, The council is no different to any beach resort council it wants to promote icmeler as a destination.
So the development starts year on year of change, to increase visitor numbers, requires more modern hotels, restaurants and bars. The new palm tree lined promenade to make it look more European, many liked the old one but a prospective visitor who has a negative opinion of Turkey now looking at a brochure sees a beach and promenade that just looks like one in Spain, and starts to think they may give the resort a try.
Restaurants and bars now with higher rates and rents need to increase revenue, therefore prices go up and that prices some visitors out of the resort and the never ending circle continues till Icmeler either thrives or dies.

I'm sorry if you misinterpreted my posting. There was no nastiness at all in my posting, they were genuine questions. Read it again with a different tone of voice. This is the problem when you read the spoken word, unless there is an appropriate smilie to put in, it is so easy to read it wrongly. I was just asking why, if you felt so strongly against Icmeler that you wrote that "one thing is for sure you wont see me there again" that you bothered to read the postings.
No nastiness intended :)
