we got them from bupa online, they charge £5 for anything under £800 but as there are a few of us going we chipped in together and got £800 . a company called ice only charge £2.95 for transactions under £300 but free for over, however they give a slightly lower rate think it was 2.49 when we got 2.51 with bupa x

long may it continue xxx :P

Was going to get some currency through ICE yesterday at 2.4918 but wasn't feeling too good so didn't get to the bank to transfer money. Today the rate is down to 2.4545, don't know what to do now....buy now or wait and hope that it goes up a bit??

It's hard to decide what to do but I too took the plunge and got some yesterday 2.49 which I was happy with. If it does go up I will get some more.

Gee I thought I was doing well getting 2.46 yesterday, however I'm glad I bought some lira yesterday as its down again today, 2.43 on Travelex online. Will watch with interest and if it goes back up to around 2.50 will buy the remainder then

I have just read that the interest committee is meeting on the 15th Feb (Next week), if they lower interest rates again I expect that the £ will get a little stronger but there is opinion it will not change.

Best rate in the UK tonight is 2.484 with Bupa.

I agree, Crown Currency Exchange was run like a ponzi scheme where the deposits were not ringed fenced, the story is at http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/bargains-a ... _page_id=5

The three recommended appear to be Travelex, Thomas Exchange Global and ICE

Turkish interest rates left unchanged.

£ dipped today on announcement of inflation rate for January but has recovered quite well, in fact its got a bot stronger.

Post Office was 2.477 today, Thompson Exchange Global was offering 2.513

Interbank Rate rocketed today to 2.61 so I am expecting 2.53-2.54 tomorrow from Thompson Exchange Global which is one of the three recommended by ThisIsMoney for a complany with a secure solid base, the other two are Travelex and Ice.

Interbank rate trend from 2002
