Thanks for unlocking this thread Collette.
Maybe it should be a sticky, everyone always seems to be complaining about being ripped off at Dalaman.
We love Turkey and the people, or we would not keep going back twice a year. :D :D :D

Youre quite right George, and its not only his mind thats going. He knows it, you know it and I know it but you didn't have to tell everyone else    Also think it a good idea to keep on, then we can monitor if anything is being done or not.

Received report from Tourist people saying "thank you for your sensible report on Dalaman Airport. Finding out prices from sub-contractors at Dalaman airport. However price reductions may not be immediate solution but in future may alter." or words to that effect. Think they mean hard luck nothing doing

Got an email from [email protected] asking for more details, sent of about the lady who was told her letter for her pregnancy was out of date and was charged £60 for a certificate at dalaman airport, also told him to look at Dreamboys (on the canal) thread, again this should be looked into, disgusting that's what they are, why is this, the Turks are a very warm people, apart from these at Dalaman and this bloke at Dreamboys.

They were very good with me, and e-mailed me back within a couple of days. I complained about being sold fake cigaretes and was told they had spoken to the local police who were takeing it very seriously and had promised to pay the shop a visit wether or not they actually did I don't know.

Good idea to have somewhere to complain but maybe it would be nice to have somewhere to put the things we were pleased with? maybe a comment box in the ICR or something of the sort?
Also on the comments about dalaman airport, we flew home september 09, went to buy some pringles and at the cost of 22.5 lire thought it was absolutely stupid! especially when you got to duty free you could get a version of pringles for 2.5 lire!! x

the annoying thing is that they would never charge Turkish people that kind of money for something like that
if they said that price to a turkish people they would tell them to get stuffed and they wouldnt charge them that price

Katie you will be surprised.

I have used the internal terminal many times and the food is just as expensive there for them.

Turkish people also get charged more money to stay in hotels in Turkey than foreign people.

yeah i know Turkish people get charged more to stay in hotels thats because the turkish government want to attract more tourists
but a lot of my turkish friends have said to me that when they go to the airports they just dont pay the prices and end up getting it for cheaper

The internal terminal is not like the international one and there is only 2 small cafe bars and the same price as the others but you are not held to ransom like the other terminal as you can turn up there with just a few minutes to spare to catch your plane so missing the need for drinks or food

sounds like a better idea than waiting around for ages before you get on the plane
would allow you more time in icmeler :P
guess they couldnt do that with international flight though unfortunately
but i can imagine cause the turks dont like being ripped off

Would like to refresh and remind Forum members that tinkerbelle opened this TOPIC to give information as to where complaints could be addressed to an authorised Turkish Official.
Please start at the beginning and read the first entry as it may be of use to you at a future date.

Hi itobradshaw1, Why not send a email to = [email protected] and register complaints with The Governor of Mulga concerning the over pricing at Dalaman Airport. Other forum members have done so and the more that do so increases the hope that action may be taking.
